Drink rum and coke in a cozy jazz bar.
...who serve their own cinnamon cookies.
On the test strip, Volutes actually smells sweetly of cola. It's totally unfamiliar at first and you wonder if you want to smell like that. As I smell my way through all the fragrances at the Diptyque stand, I keep returning to the Volutes test strip to take a sniff. When applied to the skin, it smells less like cola (kind of in the background) and more like spices, honey and blond tobacco. You can definitely smell the iris too, as it gives the fragrance that typical powdery aspect. The tobacco doesn't smell like a cigarette, but like a packet of dried tobacco leaves that have become a little damp. Despite its sweetness, it is not heavy, but it is not a fresh scent either, but rather resinous and powdery.
It is unisex with a slightly feminine touch, which gives the fragrance its warmth. It is definitely a room in which both sexes spend time. I think it's really great. Personally, however, it's more of a fragrance that I have to be in the mood for, so I wouldn't wear it as a signature. Nevertheless, I use it a lot, especially in the fall or when it's really rainy and cold. Especially recommended for those who like to wear L'heure Bleue by Guerlain or like this type of fragrance.
Sillage is moderate and the longevity is good - lasts longer than other edp's from Diptyque.
