When applying "Emperor's Court | Dixit & Zak," I immediately thought of Oud bombs from Ensar Oud or Areej Le Doré. If you like their fragrances, you should definitely give this one a "sniff." Personally, I find the scent quite okay. The longevity on my skin is about 10 hours, and I would describe the sillage as successful.
In the top note, an animalic Oud aroma emerges right away. It also has a sweet yet citrusy scent of bergamot. In the heart note, the agarwood remains present but is accompanied by floral hints that remind me of rose water, jasmine flowers, and ylang-ylang. Saffron adds a certain oriental touch to the fragrance. The base is very complex and at times a bit cumbersome. At times, it smells intensely animalic like Oud, then smoky like myrrh, opoponax, and incense, and then again sweet like amber, benzoin, bourbon vanilla, and musk. Additionally, there are notes of tobacco, earthy oakmoss, patchouli, labdanum, and a bit of sandalwood.
For my nose, this tends to be a somewhat overloaded scent experience. However, Emperor's Court will surely find its admirers. I would like to thank Nick once again for the sample.
