A Minimalist Explosion!
WOW what a scent!
Clear, zesty, cheerful, tingling, and pure good mood awakening! The perfect companion for summer vacation and the freshest way to splash money around!

Kinkan smells like a yellow Nimm2, like freshly squeezed lemon in sparkling soda, and there are only a few comparable scents
(e.g. Eau de Fleurs de Cedrat!).

Longevity is not guaranteed. But this scent is so beautiful that you can't get enough of it.

They dare to do something!
Just two ingredients - citrus notes and kumquat - for 263,- euros is quite a statement. It’s not even a 100 ml bottle that would allow us to generously spray the supposedly light summer fragrance, but the elegant bottle in the style of L’heure fragrances holds only 75 ml. With the wrapped light yellow ribbon and the finely etched citrus fruits in the glass, it emphasizes the summery feel and the noble style of the house of Cartier.

Les épures de Parfum means "The Sketches of Perfume" and it excellently meets this claim in the bottle design, with the minimalist number of ingredients and in the selection of purely citrus notes that stand for clarity, purity, and freshness. I like purism, and that makes the concept appealing to me, even without having sniffed the bottle yet. Let’s go ...

Imagine you are sitting in a lemon grove under bright sunshine, cutting open plump fresh lemons, limes, yuzu, and kumquats, the juice running over your hands, the scent of summer in the air, right next to you someone is carefully zesting the peels into fine strips. Very carefully, so as not to touch the bitter white layer underneath. I called it a lemon grove to evoke an image, and because I don’t know if there are lime, yuzu, or kumquat groves, but actually, it is precisely these three that make up the scent. Pur Kinkan smells highly aromatic, intense, radiant, fresh, and tangy, but by no means sour or even piercing with various citrus fruits, and perhaps two or three orange blossom petals have drifted down onto the table (really no more).

This has nothing to do with classic fresh scents that often use neroli. There’s no trace of that here - thankfully for me. No dish soap lemon, no toilet freshness, and no lemon cream ball. There is no perceptible accompaniment in the form of musk, cedar, herbs, moss, or whatever one might know from other fresh fragrances. Pur Kinkan smells as if you are rubbing the juice and peels of fresh fruits directly onto your skin. Completely natural, not synthetic at all, totally un-perfumed, full of joy for life, likable, sunny, modern, pure, unique. In hot temperatures, this is a pure delight; for other weather conditions, in my opinion, Pur Kinkan is not suitable. Unfortunately, this joy of life lasts for me only half an hour and then quickly fades.

Pur Kinkan smells of nothing other than the most beautiful citrus fruits, but at the highest level. The name and the ingredients reflect the scent exactly. Whether it needs to cost 263,- euros, I do not want to judge, and it is certainly not to everyone’s taste to smell like being rubbed with limes, yuzu, and kumquats - I find it delightful on hot summer days.

Great citrus notes at the beginning, then accompanied by a green note like macerated grass. Not for me anymore. Too bad.

A slightly lemonade-like orange fruit (with peel remnants) is subtly underlined with a milky note. Wonderfully soft and a bit unusual.

Sunny, optimistic, naturalistic & durable. Crisp citrus freshness & typical yuzu fruit facet. That's it. 75 ml 260.00 EUR...nope!
