The realistic peel of an orange
I'm only missing one Aqua Allegoria (Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune) and I'll have every citrus Aqua Allegorias in my collection. It took me a very long time before going for a full bottle of this one since it was a friend's signature fragrance. Unfortunately, we've grown apart and I recently became comfortable with the idea of getting a full bottle for myself (I no longer associate the scent with her).
A very realistic orange peel scent. Fruity, sweet with a good dose of tangy sourness. There's some green, fresh aspect to it (probably from the mint), but the tanginess is ever so present and very enjoyable in the heat. It's an energizing fragrance, uplifting, but also refreshing. It's probably one of the longer-lasting Aqua Allegoria in the collection, but also one of the citrus fragrances I've tried that has very good performance (since citrus notes are usually fleeting). As it moves on, it starts getting slightly powdery, an accord I have smelled in the other citrus AAs, but nothing too powdery. The fruitiness and tangy sourness start to fade into a fruity sweetness that's soothing and calming. Drydown becomes slightly woodier as time passes, but it never overtakes the fruity sweetness.
If you're looking for an orange fragrance, this is a great choice at a very nice pricepoint. Guerlain obviously knows what it's doing and they've proved it yet again with this one. Delightful!
