Photorealistic Orange
It’s like I’m in the middle of orange groves, picking out the freshest, juiciest oranges! Orange Soleia smells like pure orange, but its slight green vibes make it smell like perfect orange trees.

You might even mistake this with real orange juice at the first spray. It’s not like those containing sugar and additional ingredients, but which contain ONLY oranges. Oranges here balance well between being sweet and bitter. It’s not necessarily sweet, but it’s not that bitter, either. I could say it’s linear, but it doesn’t lack complexity. There’s a minty breeze in the background with a meek pepper touch, which makes it high-qualified.

It’s perfect for a scorching hot summer, and surprisingly, it stays well on my skin for 6 hours indoors. Staying power deteriorates when I go outside, but it still lingers for a decent amount of time. The sillage is pretty good, too.

The realistic peel of an orange
I'm only missing one Aqua Allegoria (Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune) and I'll have every citrus Aqua Allegorias in my collection. It took me a very long time before going for a full bottle of this one since it was a friend's signature fragrance. Unfortunately, we've grown apart and I recently became comfortable with the idea of getting a full bottle for myself (I no longer associate the scent with her).

A very realistic orange peel scent. Fruity, sweet with a good dose of tangy sourness. There's some green, fresh aspect to it (probably from the mint), but the tanginess is ever so present and very enjoyable in the heat. It's an energizing fragrance, uplifting, but also refreshing. It's probably one of the longer-lasting Aqua Allegoria in the collection, but also one of the citrus fragrances I've tried that has very good performance (since citrus notes are usually fleeting). As it moves on, it starts getting slightly powdery, an accord I have smelled in the other citrus AAs, but nothing too powdery. The fruitiness and tangy sourness start to fade into a fruity sweetness that's soothing and calming. Drydown becomes slightly woodier as time passes, but it never overtakes the fruity sweetness.

If you're looking for an orange fragrance, this is a great choice at a very nice pricepoint. Guerlain obviously knows what it's doing and they've proved it yet again with this one. Delightful!

Orange groves
I fell head over heels for this scent. I tested it head to head against the very popular Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilic. It should be said, both scents are excellent bright refreshing oranges, but Orange Soleia wins for me on a few counts and is the orange Aqua Allegoria for me.

Firstly, I like the tartness from the blood orange here. While there is a touch of sweetness, I would say the effect is more an orange peel rather than a candied soft or sweet fruit. Some oranges turn sour on my skin, but this was not the case with either Mandarine Basilic or Orange Soleia. I also much prefer the mint note in Orange Soleia over the basil in Mandarine Basilic. I find it helps give an overall effect of sipping on an aperol spritz in the summer. The pink pepper and woody notes are subtle but present and gives some strength and grounding to Orange Soleia. For me the effect of Orange Soleia is just more refreshing than Mandarine Basilic.

Performance is not great, but it is an EDT so I expect it to be lighter. I get about 1.5-2 hrs on skin and around 5 on clothes with a very intimate projection. Still, this is a scent that makes me happy to reapply it and as an orange dominant spring/summer freshie I think Orange Soleia is just incredible. It was available at a really affordable price point too.

A very accurate orange perfume. But I have more recommendations.
I understand the opinions that say it's fizzy and carbonated, or that it tastes like a real peeled orange. But I came across... Mandarin Basilic Harvest. Orange Soleia certainly brings out the best of orange. The pink pepper gives it that zesty feeling. It feels like the cells are crushed and the juice from the peel flies... but as it dries down, the tonka bean comes on, so the first half feels like spring/summer, and the second half feels like autumn, which is a bit of a mismatch. It's a bit of a strange feeling, like it's jelly but has a spicy kick. And Mandarin Basilic Harvest gave me the feeling of gushing juice, like I was just peeling a mandarin orange and squeezing the juice right in front of me. It's 100% concentrated. Orange Soleia feels like a sketch, and Harvest feels like an elaborate photograph. Once you smell Harvest, you just can't get enough of it...

Orange PEEL, not the juice
I sought out an orange/mandarin/clementine perfume after I smelled 7 Virtues' Clementine Dream, which was a pretty realistic clementine+vanilla.
This is even more photorealistic to oranges, specifically to the image of someone peeling an orange and you can see the juice-oil mist spurt out of the rind into the air. It is more sour than sweet (more like the peel than the juice of an orange). This also has wayyyy longer longevity than Clementine Dream and projects more, but it also suffers the same shorter lasting power as other citrus-centric perfumes. I give it maybe around 4-5 hours.
I'm excited to try layering this with a simple sweet creamy perfume for that orange creamsicle smell

Photorealistic juicy orange peel, fresh, a bit sweet, a bit bitter and green from petitgrain. In the drydown, a touch of musk. Refreshing.

I loved the opening, reminiscent of Fanta, just more bitter. However, the dry down on me left only flowery soap impression, which I hated.

It somehow smells like the most expensive orange soda ever created.

Smells like a real orange, but fresher and less sweet. Great lasting power. Had my bottle for 2 years now and it gets stronger with age.

It's finally been discontinued. But it's okay because it contains Orange Sanguine . Guerlan has a bit cosmetic scent.

Quite a good sweet orange scent with good lasting power. Picked a bottle of this up for my Mom, and I'd get it for myself too. Gorgeous!

Natural zesty orange rind, it's a bit one note, but that makes this excellent for layering extra orange push onto other fragrances. Very unisex

Very accurate orange peel scent. Fruity, sweet, with a little tangy sourness and some green to it. Better performance than most Allegorias!

Beautiful bright orange with no sharp edges. Slightly sweet, almost like an Orange Julius.
