This is such a generational thing. For my children, summer smells like Nivea Sun. I conducted a non-representative blind study with the corresponding EdT - the reactions were clear.
For those over 40, however, Delial in the yellow bottle stands for swimming pools, kiosks, and wet towels. Not to mention the Tyrolean nut oil junkies, who smelled incredibly delicious and looked like they had already been marinated for the rotisserie.
"Delial burns ideally" came with sunburn guarantee and SPF 4, and for the overly cautious wimps and redheads, SPF 8. It was such a heavily over-perfumed allergen bomb that my mother, who usually isn't affected by anything, turned as pink as a flamingo if she just got a tiny bit of it.
That Seathalasso smells like the old Delial has already been confirmed by others here. I have tried so many fragrances, none come close to it. The old formulation was definitely better. The old bottle was significantly uglier. The shells still clink around so unmotivated in the hollow cap. I got the new Seathalasso as a backup because it suddenly was only available from a single retailer and there was only 1 piece left there. I approached it with low expectations, thinking it would just be a shadow of its predecessor. I am relieved to find that it is only diluted, yes. That's not really cool, but I can live with it. The structure is almost identical to the old one in my nose. The new bottle is also a failure. It is no longer strikingly creepy, but just creepy. When I lift the cap, the plastic seal inside makes a noise that reminds me of my cat squeaking when her cat buddy gives her a whack.
Conclusion: From now on, spray 3 times instead of once. Don't place the bottle prominently on the shelf with the other beauties, but rather in the third row. Be glad that I am still stocked up for a few summers. Still hope that it won't be discontinued.
"When I take the cap off, the plastic seal inside makes a noise that reminds me of my cat squeaking when her buddy gives her a whack."... you write really amusingly, I just noticed that this is your first and only review so far, what a shame. You really have a talent for writing!
I was able to test it today. At first, it hit me harshly in the nose, scent-wise. But after about 30 minutes, I smelled delial. It's been 3 hours since I sprayed it, and I'm still sniffing around that spot - delial, definitely?
Your comment is **delial**, but I - from the Delial generation - can't see anything of swimming pool/kiosk/bath towels in Seathalasso (old version) at all. I just find Seathalasso unbearably artificial. Delial, on the other hand - sigh... I also had a great laugh about the Tiroler-Nussöl faction. They always seemed to me to be mostly over 50 back then. But maybe that was due to the prematurely aged skin. *delial = brilliant and delicate
The Tyrolean nut oil completely passed me by, still unknown to me today. The shell bottle was nice too, but the shell was probably artificial, and that doesn't really need to be the case. Trophy ...
I neither liked nor used Delial or Tiroler Nussöl, but I loved Seathalasso even more, and the old bottle was a real eye-catcher. Especially because of the shells. And that amazing color, sigh! ** Still, I enjoyed your comment ;)
Thanks for this extremely amusing comment. : D I don't know this version of Seathalasso yet. Time will tell, time for a test. ;-)) *delialerinnering trophy*
There are often scents that smell like familiar creams and shower gels.
Just a few days ago, I had the HEMP shower gel from Original Source, which smells like cough syrup.
Speaking of Tiroler Nussöl: Is there a fragrance version of that? I've always liked it.
Nice first comment. Best regards.
I know some people are going to come at me for this, but to me, Night Scented Stock by Penhaligon's smells like that old Delial. I'm afraid it's been discontinued, though. I really enjoyed your comment too!
Then I have to try this one. Delial is in my mind; I would recognize the scent anytime. I loved it!!!
