Freshly Showered
I can still remember exactly how I first perceived the scent.
It was spring and I was sitting in the tram, usually not a place where one would expect particularly pleasant smells. At one stop, a group of women got on, and suddenly it smelled subtly but still noticeably fresh, clean, and simply pleasantly soothing. Just as I was about to ask about the scent, the group got off again - but the scent stayed in my mind for the entire ride, and somehow I didn’t want to accept that I had only smelled it that one time. I spontaneously changed my plan, went into the nearest Douglas, and told the saleswoman about the scent. To my surprise, the explanation "freshly showered, fabric softener, slightly citrus-floral, simply pleasant" was enough, and she handed me the La Résidence Seathalasso Eau de Toilette without much hesitation. I briefly smelled the bottle, sprayed it on my skin, and after a second it was clear: this is it! At that price, I didn’t have to think long and took it right away.
It is definitely not a scent for going out or when you know you will be on the go all day, but there are exactly two situations in which I am always glad to have it on the shelf.
1.: A sunny morning in spring or summer, it’s not too warm yet, you start the day relaxed and need a subtle companion for the morning.
2.: On a quiet summer evening, after showering, going back out to the terrace to wind down the evening before going to sleep - it fits perfectly here as well.
Sillage is quite subtle but just right for the two situations described.
The only downside: When I first bought it about 7-8 years ago, the bottle was really beautifully designed with a hollow space filled with small shells. The current bottles look super cheap, the large plastic cap sits way too loosely on the glass, and it is absolutely not suitable for the front row in the display case.
