Durer is a one-shot from the 70s. Sometimes I don't understand why a manufacturer creates a hit, a few years go by, and the fragrance disappears again. Since that time, many other scents have come and gone, yet strangely enough, I have been asked about this fragrance more often lately. Some ladies are even willing to stock up on several bottles if it should ever reappear. But the likelihood is almost zero.
Durer is, of course, a child of the 70s, but the chic kind, not the colorful one. A chypre, an understatement, a subtly gender-neutral yet still boldly radiant scent.
It starts with a fresh, green, almost citrusy top note that doesn't smell as piercing and, above all, not as sour as some of today's citrus components, but rather rounder, finer.
In the heart note, which leans towards warm woods and only minimally floral, there is a soapy hint of No.19. Are the two from the same era? They could be siblings.
Noble oak moss is responsible for the gentle, velvety warmth and carries a slightly spicy wood note that gives the fragrance its longevity.
For the ladies who still are, for fans of Scherrer 1, Jil Sander woman pure, and Ultima II.
