An interesting & beautiful scent that is unfortunately short-lived
I got to know Dusita from some enthusiastic online recommendation, while searching for the most popular fragrance question “What’s the best niche house?”. After 60+ euros on a discovery set, and a few weeks of testing, have to say that I’m a little disappointed. The scents are interesting, but felt a bit too similar (style wise) among themselves. And, the worst part, they have universally short longevity (at least on my skin). Whatever the beautiful smell, if it doesn’t stay on us, why buy it?
Having rant out the dissatisfaction, let’s talk about Le Pavillon d'Or; one of my favorite scents in the discovery set. It opens with a green and freshy (but not the crisp type) smell, and gradually calms down and leaves the stage to the woody smell. The top note can be a little sharp, but I find it a nice touch since the scent itself is generally on the soft side. It reminds me a little bit of Green Irish Tweed, since both are green fragrances. However, I like Le Pavillon d'Or a little more due to its softness. Because of the herby feeling, wearing it is like walking in nature; you enjoy getting closer to it and taking a deep breath. Its freshness and non-invasive nature makes it a great smell for spring and summer.
Having said all the good parts, it’s the longevity that killed any possibility for me to own a full bottle. On me, it fades into skin scent in less than 1.5 hours; one of the shortest lasting fragrance I’ve tested. Still, I can recommend you to test it out, since it may perform better on your skin.
