Greenish, aromatic, therapeutic and relaxing
Unisex

This unusual beauty is a floral woody, greenish scent which turns from the bitter and for some maybe even harsh opening into soft calmness. This is an elixir of therapeutic, relaxing, aromatic and exotic notes and it’s warm and cozy but not in the traditional and so used noticeable “Vanilla way”. This is a mix of not so familiar ingredients and it makes this interesting. You get the feeling of tranquility inside the bubble which Pavillon D’Or creates and it’s noticeable around you as well, not too loud, not too weak, just in the right kind of projection for this kind of scent.

What makes this really interesting as well, the character of all Pissara’s creations, is the ability to differ a lot depending on the wearer. It’s impossible to tell in advance in what kind of way Dusitas are going to behave on the skin and which of the notes will open most prominently. One thing is sure: the more warm the juice gets the prettier it comes.

This scent is really special, it’s not for everyone so test it and do it many times since you don’t get the whole picture of the scent straight away. I wore this many days to understand this totally and to notice all its beautiful facets.

I wanted to open up the different notes little bit.

Top:
Peppermint (refreshing, cooling, green vibe)
Honeysuckle (sweet floral note)
Orris root (Powdery and earthy, lasts long for me here)

Middle:
Fig leaf (a green and bitter note, prominent in the opening for me)
Heliotrope (Strong for me, makes this scent soft and powdery)
Boronia absolute (fruity sweet floral note)
Thyme Oil (a strong, rich and warm herbal smell)
Somalian frankincense Green Sacra

Base:
English oak
Australian sandalwood

Gorgeous. Unique. Comforting.
A beautiful homage to Kinkakuji Temple, also known as the Golden Pavilion in Kyoto. A stroll through the temple gardens and you can take in the herbs, a spicy honeysuckle with just a touch of mint tickles your nose, almost like the dried roots and leaves of a calming tea. It smells like peaceful sunshine on a late summer afternoon, the heat bouncing off the hay and flowers and fig leaves. Later, as the sandalwood peaks through, you can sense the scent of the tatami mats and wooden beams of the temple. Soothing, contemplative, noble.

It is indeed a bit short-lived on the skin, 3-4 hours, but lasts longer and develops just as nicely on clothes. However, I also bought it in the travel sizes and it's great for carrying in your purse to refresh throughout the day. I find that just one extra spray at noon is enough to carry me during my day. Plus the atomizers on the travel spray from Dusita are really good.

An interesting & beautiful scent that is unfortunately short-lived
I got to know Dusita from some enthusiastic online recommendation, while searching for the most popular fragrance question “What’s the best niche house?”. After 60+ euros on a discovery set, and a few weeks of testing, have to say that I’m a little disappointed. The scents are interesting, but felt a bit too similar (style wise) among themselves. And, the worst part, they have universally short longevity (at least on my skin). Whatever the beautiful smell, if it doesn’t stay on us, why buy it?

Having rant out the dissatisfaction, let’s talk about Le Pavillon d'Or; one of my favorite scents in the discovery set. It opens with a green and freshy (but not the crisp type) smell, and gradually calms down and leaves the stage to the woody smell. The top note can be a little sharp, but I find it a nice touch since the scent itself is generally on the soft side. It reminds me a little bit of Green Irish Tweed, since both are green fragrances. However, I like Le Pavillon d'Or a little more due to its softness. Because of the herby feeling, wearing it is like walking in nature; you enjoy getting closer to it and taking a deep breath. Its freshness and non-invasive nature makes it a great smell for spring and summer.

Having said all the good parts, it’s the longevity that killed any possibility for me to own a full bottle. On me, it fades into skin scent in less than 1.5 hours; one of the shortest lasting fragrance I’ve tested. Still, I can recommend you to test it out, since it may perform better on your skin.

Milky-herbal floral-fig with bitter green bite
Mint, iris, and honeysuckle combine to form a fresh, green opening that sometimes reminds me of Chanel. No. 19 and sometimes of Diorella (and sometimes of neither). There is an illusion of galbanum minus the bitterness, or of vetiver without its dankness. The main note here is fig leaf, which would explain the faintly milky quality to the greenness, but there's none of the urinous quality that often sullies the vibrant smell of fig leaf. There is also a whisper of fruit, but one so phantasmagoric that it might all be in my head.

These opening notes are quickly coated with an overlay of what smells to me like the sweet, musty alfalfa grass notes (half hay, half Quaker's oats) borrowed from one of my favorite Dusita perfumes, Erawan, but minus that scent's dusky cocoa. There is also, here and there, a touch of Chanel's Poudre Universelle Libre - a discreetly-perfumey, buff-colored skein of powder dusted over the scent's cheekbones.

Although perfumer Pissara Umavijani's inspiration for Le Pavillon d'Or was drawn from three different lakes, this perfume smells more pastoral than aquatic to me. It carries the green-gold-lilac duskiness of post-harvest meadows and field margins and hedgerows.

The final layer in this igari blush-style fragrance is a crepuscular haze of almond-scented lotion, due to the heliotrope, a plant beloved of midwives for its babyish innocence. But while in less elegant hands the heliotrope might turn fudgy and turgid in that yellow cake way of Etro's Heliotrope, Pissara has threaded the note through gossamer layers of green florals and iris so delicately that the finish retains the freshness borrowed from the first layer laid down. Simply lovely.

The troll in the golden pavilion
It exists - for sure. These ugly, hunchbacked creatures with thick noses and frizzy hair, roaming the woods, waiting for hikers or strays to annoy them.
Small and poisonous, well camouflaged in green-brown earth colours. Grinning maliciously and only the mischief in the neck. They are nimble and agile.
If they are in front of you, the next moment they are behind you... husssssssssch.
There are so many stories to tell about them and somehow they are cute. Ugly cute *g*
Good, so it has something to do with the scent Le Pavillon d'Or means "Golden Pavilion". There is no connection with a troll But... if I equate the golden pavilion with a golden cage, then it fits again Le Pavillon d'Or smells woody, earthy, bitter and somewhat coarse. Roughened wood, freshly cut wood. Somewhat soft, like freshly broken young branches of an oak tree. I can confirm it, I have 3 in my garden.
Boronia is a flowering plant. The shape of its flowers looks similar to small hearts. It grows in humid, low-lying areas, usually in forests, lowlands and along rivers. It has an intense fruity fragrance without sweetness.
Fig goes completely under in this fragrance, at least for my nose. Iris root, green-earthy and powdery floral scent like a breath. But the peppermint lifts all the green-woody notes up into the air, like an air cushion on which one is carried. The fragrance becomes clear and bright, like mountain water rushing down through forests and meadows. Again and again the shore is washed away and earth and grasses are swept away.
Heliptropic, delicate and lovely, as good as it gets, lets the golden pavilion shine and shine in warm light.
Little trolls, a bit dirty and smelling of forest, with flowers behind their ears, frolicking across the meadows, right through the herbs, until they roll right into the golden cage and puffing for rest. Yes, a bit kitschy the description, but it just fits.
Le Pavillon d'Or is an exceptional fragrance and unique. Spicy green, but refreshingly balsamic.

The fig & woods are soft, creamy and really nice. Too bad the top notes are so sharp, they cut through it like a knife. Does not work for me
