A beautiful homage to Kinkakuji Temple, also known as the Golden Pavilion in Kyoto. A stroll through the temple gardens and you can take in the herbs, a spicy honeysuckle with just a touch of mint tickles your nose, almost like the dried roots and leaves of a calming tea. It smells like peaceful sunshine on a late summer afternoon, the heat bouncing off the hay and flowers and fig leaves. Later, as the sandalwood peaks through, you can sense the scent of the tatami mats and wooden beams of the temple. Soothing, contemplative, noble.
It is indeed a bit short-lived on the skin, 3-4 hours, but lasts longer and develops just as nicely on clothes. However, I also bought it in the travel sizes and it's great for carrying in your purse to refresh throughout the day. I find that just one extra spray at noon is enough to carry me during my day. Plus the atomizers on the travel spray from Dusita are really good.
