"Kontakts" is a discontinued perfume from Latvia, produced within the Soviet Union. To me it smells pretty much like "Opium" by YSL. Others say it reminds them of "Cinnabar", but then again, those two are related anyway. What suprises me most is the high quality of the ingredients used back in the 1980's. This perfume is tenacious and very expressive - even after 30 years, it still radiates with beauty. Although the ideas for its composition were borrowed from the West, the perfumers of Dzintars created a tremendously warm, golden kind of smell. Whatever you personally think of this former USSR-brand, "Kontakts" is a spectacular perfume.
