~ Inspiration ~
I was not familiar with either the brand or the perfume. I received it as a bonus at a souk. Probably a niche fragrance (as I see only one person here owns it).
~ Bottle ~
Square and unremarkable with a thick glass rim. The brand name is placed on a golden background on the bottle neck and "Diabolique" is prominently displayed on the front. I had imagined something a bit more sophisticated and devilish under the name.
~ Scent ~
When I first sprayed it, I thought I had picked up a men's sample, which must be due to the spicy cardamom. Overall, the scent is woody and bitter. I can barely detect the violets, which are completely overshadowed by dry cedar and sandalwood, benzoin, musk, and vetiver.
~ Longevity ~
On my skin, it lasts about 4 hours (a bit longer on clothing and hair). A sparing application is advisable, as otherwise the scent scratches the throat.
~ Occasion ~
It is most suitable for spring or autumn. It is quite strong at first, but it weakens fairly quickly. I find the scent to be quite unisex-compatible.
~ Conclusion ~
So it's not my fragrance direction. It is too spicy and bitter for me.
Funny - I think I need to test it again - it seemed pretty sweet and more suitable for fall/winter to me... Since I'm currently digging out my "cold season scents," I'll definitely give it another try soon ;o)
