A really good Christmas tea
I must say I was a bit doubtful about Dzintars as a brand, until I found out that they go way back. The quality of their perfumes must be of some standards since they have existed for more than 50 years. I was therefore eager to try out my first Dzintars.
The opening of My Charm Special is a really convincing cup of good Christmas tea. I dare say it is due to the cinnamon, mandarin and saffron. Though not listed, I get a sniff of cloves from time to time. After 10 minutes the scent moves to a more coffee-rosy place and it begins to feel more like a perfume than a drink. Then it changes again, becoming soapy-rosy with a hint of patchouli, and this is where it stays for the next hours. It feels like it goes from interesting to a more common smell - not bad, just more plain and not so intriguing. In the end it is mostly vanilla. The longevity is three to four hours. Sillage is an arm’s length.
The bottle is quite nice. It is both heavy and curved and gives an impression of quality. Nice golden writing and a golden top compliment the simplicity of the bottle.
So, I was not disappointed. The brand delivers and I will probably buy some of their other scents - at least as decants.
