Liaison and Lesion
Yes, those were the days when Ellen Betrix was a well-known cosmetics brand in the 90s. I was not aware that this company also produced fragrances, as a full vintage sample only reached me recently.
First of all, we have a strong powdery opening that is quite heavy and yet goes a bit overboard; Iris and patchouli paired with ylang-ylang are not exactly subtle. There are no fruity notes, such as peach and apricot, to be found anywhere, not even as the day progresses. The floral and somewhat sweet components stand out completely here…rose, tuberose, jasmine, and the shy heliotrope are all vying for attention. In the base, warmth builds up with amber, sandalwood, and a hint of vanilla. The longevity is not good, but not bad either. The sillage is almost overwhelming with a generous application - therefore not recommended.
The scent is relatively unsweet, slightly fresh but above all a little 90s powder bomb. For lovers of that era, it’s worth a liaison; for everyone else, it’s a lesion of the olfactory system.
