Molecule 01 Escentric Molecules 2006

If you are interested in layering fragrances, you will inevitably read about the Escentric Molecules brand. However, I was never interested enough to actually buy the fragrance. When I had almost forgotten about it, I received a sample of Molecule 01 with a purchase.

I really liked the sample! The smell is hard to describe. To me, the sample smelled like clean skin and a bit like fresh, but not unpleasant sweat from a very well-groomed person.

I found a good offer in an online store and bought it, but then I was surprised: the bottle smells completely different to the sample I had at the time. It smells like synthetic wood. I associate it with a freshly sharpened pencil. This smell is very pleasant and sometimes more, sometimes less radiates from the skin. I don't want to say that it's worse than the sample. But different.

The bottle I bought was from the Story Edition. As far as I know, it's no different from the others, except that the design on the bottle is different and has short anecdotes from convinced users of this perfume printed on it.

I think it's great for layering to add an undertone of lightness and woodiness to other fragrances. But it is also a pleasant, light fragrance on its own. Unobtrusive, clean and transparent.

I would still be interested to know what it really smells like and whether either my sample or the bottle may have been stored incorrectly, or whether there are grossly different batches. Nevertheless, I don't think it was a bad buy, half the bottle is already empty, but I still can't say whether I'll buy it again.
