Longing for Spring
For all those who feel like I do:

As I have mentioned several times, I find temperatures below 5° to be a hardship. And in freezing temperatures, I feel the urge to report Peter for common bodily harm. I really need to wrap myself up at home on my days off with a fragrance that I usually only wear in summer. The sadly discontinued White Linen Pink Coral is a pretty good choice for that.
What I like about Estee Lauder fragrances is that they always have at least a subtle vintage vibe. They are always adult and elegant scents, even the new releases. One of the few brands that doesn't launch a squeaky sweet water just to climb the Douglas Top 10.
What I particularly like here is that the fragrance actually comes off very young and fresh, but at the same time also dignified and definitely not squeaky. The top note is peppery and berry-like, but the slightly soapy typical scent of aldehydes prevents it from becoming one of those typical fruity waters.
Although the fragrance pyramid in the heart note suggests a lush bouquet of flowers, I mainly smell peony here. This note is usually a bit tricky for me. I often find it somewhat distant and a bit stuffy. It reminds me of a strict governess. But the berry notes create a nice contrast here. As a result, the fragrance feels beautifully light, but not too much.
In the base, it becomes really soft with heliotrope and vanilla and just slightly woody. But still never sweet (I've never sniffed such an unsweet heliotrope). Throughout the entire progression, the aldehyde note hovers over the fine fragrance weave and gives it a delicate and clean elegance. My association would be a classy garden party in summer. Unfortunately, the longevity and sillage here are really subpar. If it’s not really warm, you shouldn’t go outside with White Linen Pink Coral. Even in summer, it only lasts a few hours. Not even if you spray very generously. I really overdid it today (13 sprays four hours ago). When I sit here in front of the PC, I can still perceive the fragrance quite distinctly, but outside, it was already gone two hours ago.
I recommend this fragrance to all ladies who like light but not too sweet summer scents. You can still find it on eBay. Unfortunately, you have to search a bit to find a good deal, but it’s really worth it.

I found the scent so exceptionally lovely back then that I put on my generous pants and brought it to my eldest daughter.

I completely agree with you: Even the newer EL fragrances come with a certain level of sophistication and maturity. And: EL reformulates its scents very stylishly. Your comment is very helpful and beautifully written.
