From Glamour to Resin

Until recently, I was not familiar with any of the Ex Nihilo (Creation from Nothing) fragrances. Suddenly, they appeared out of nowhere right in front of me. And do you know that feeling when you test an unknown brand? Even if you don't get to smell all of them, you internally decide whether this brand deserves attention or if you can easily forget it.

Ex Nihilo immediately made it into my attention drawer, as all the fragrances give a very high-quality impression, do not smell chemical, and have impressive performance in terms of sillage and longevity.

Even though I have moved past the amber phase or no longer feel like wearing such fragrances, I must praise Amber Sky. I have smelled many amber scents, but this one is probably the most beautiful so far. The amber here leans more towards the resinous direction; it is not a cuddly amber. Amber comes from amber, and you can definitely perceive that here. It is blended with a pleasant sandalwood that has been stripped of its soapiness, which I find very successful; the vanilla only lightly resonates in the background and is never intrusive.

I would bet that there is no oud contained here. The term medicinal oud comes up so often in this forum; I consider it a myth. I would go so far as to claim that there is no "medicinal" oud, but rather other ingredients are responsible for what many perceive as "medicinal" repeatedly.
In the pyramid of Amber Sky, I suspect that the particularly resinous amber combined with cedarwood conveys this impression, and the bergamot in the top note adds to it.

At the outset, I find Amber Sky very feminine, opulent, glamorous; after an hour, it takes on a tendency towards a masculine scent. As it develops, it remains resinous with sandalwood and vanilla aromas. A successful composition; testing it is definitely worthwhile.

That sounds really exciting, and I love amber in all its forms anyway!
