Loops of Infinity
Musc Infini is, for me, a mono fragrance. Yes, why not start with a central insight. After all, it’s called "infinite musk" for a reason. And although it is indeed finite, the theme is wonderfully planned and executed by Ex Nihilo.
We begin, a little as the fragrance house describes, in the light of the big city. The musk is fresh. Daylike. It carries and has a very clear, almost ethereal presence due to the citrus notes. But right from the start, something darker and more sensual flickers up. The patchouli adds a slightly damp earthiness, which will later blend with reflections of cocoa (thanks to the vanilla in the base). I either tuned out the floral accords or they were simply very well hidden.
So we experience the morning walk to the triple-shot cappuccino and the office very relaxed and with one or two smiles. The day at the company won’t be easier with "MI," but surely a bit better. It certainly doesn’t darken the day. :)
For me, the musk in the heart note is indeed the most demanding. So, if we start from a day in the light, we have already begun our descent into the evening and are probably - after work - standing in a bar. Here, the very straightforward musk asserts itself, completely unplayful, as a linesman between worlds and still provides a rather fresh feeling, including scent, while the third drink has already won the race against the ice.
As we head towards midnight, to be honest, there’s not much of the infinity left to sniff. It has now been definitively toned down and has become a skin scent. Slightly sweet, powdery. A bit of cocoa. One must know that it is still there. Personally, I find this quite agreeable for the end of an evening. There are surely much more interesting scents to discover at the end of the day than one’s own.
A clear recommendation for musk fans and those who want to become one. Musc Infini is a nice solid fragrance, without big surprises, but also without malice. With a longevity of just over 10 hours, it fits well before it becomes very cozy and close to the skin.
