…….Transitions…….
Do you know anyone who wears transitional jackets?
Well, just like now, it’s no longer winter but not yet spring.
The first crocuses are still quite shy,
like when a snail briefly peeks out of its house, only to retreat back into its cozy shell..
When I ride my bike to work in the morning, I need my padded coat,
but by noon it’s already too warm for me..
There are also jackets that are advertised as “home outside,”
I really enjoy being outside.
I don’t know. But who would really want to be permanently at home there…
Then there’s, “it’s so clean, you can eat off the floor,” like at my cousin’s place, for example.
I wouldn’t want to eat off the floor anywhere…I have a table.
Sorry for my train of thought, spring inspires me to fantasize..
This little old-fashioned scent with its few ingredients is a phenomenon.
It can be worn as a transitional, main, secondary, cozy, comforting, all-weather, multi-situation
….FRAGRANCE….
It existed in my youth, in the 70s, as bath oil, for the whole family, so to speak, when everyone had to get in the tub one after the other or at the same time.
So my sisters and I, my parents bathed solo and it was locked.
Woe to anyone
who needed to go to the bathroom in between….
It still exists, it’s practically impossible to kill, a price that could be called witty..
It always comes in handy when you don’t want to wear perfume, when you have little time to think about what would suit today’s work or breakfast at Tiffany’s..
Or when little fits, as your head is full of fantastic stories
that don’t want to say anything grand but sweeten everyday life..
It’s likely to be the patchouli again, which for a long time subtly extends its
feelers towards me, but doesn’t touch me.
Or the slightly powdery tenderness that stays in my blouse for days..
If someone were to leave a scent trail with it, I would have to follow her…like butterflies taking a trip to the floral paradise of a garden center, always following the feelers… and by the way, if anyone is interested, I work in the logistics of the same and in the pet department, this fine scent also fits well among dog and cat treats, which smell through the packaging too.

What lasts long will finally be good
What a silly look I had when I saw Miss Fenjal Eau de Toilette next to the Katzenberger fragrances on the Rossmann shelf. Sure, the scent was mentioned once when discussing how Miss Fenjal comes closest to the Fenjala bath oil. That’s where I learned that there is an Eau de Toilette. But I had never seen it anywhere here before. It was like a myth.
I only knew the perfume with propellant, which comes off more like deodorant, and the liquid perfume, which looks like bath oil and has a similar consistency. Neither was my cup of tea.
But now this one, in a glass spray bottle, as Eau de Toilette.
Sorry, I’m giving it 100% right away, even though the packaging says it’s a light, refreshing, and delicate scent with lower longevity, it comes closest to the bath oil. The sillage is close to the skin but strong there.
It’s wonderfully woody. A spicy chypre, slightly green, slightly powdery, but more woody, with very little sweetness, slightly soapy.
Absolutely wonderful...
The crystal-clear bottle is to my taste, as is the price. It had to be taken home immediately - no hesitation.
I won’t wait to write a comment about my enthusiasm until I can describe the exact longevity. No, I’m writing now. It probably isn’t very long-lasting. I’m guessing about 3 hours, but I will update that. It’s probably good for going to sleep. I will take it to work. It doesn’t annoy anyone, and everyone knows it.
The bottle is simple, filled with the green scent. Maybe it will change color over time, as often happens with green-blue perfumes. Or maybe it won’t age at all.
The bottle holds 50 ml. I don’t think there are any other sizes available.
Oh, I can’t express how excited I am. A budget fragrance can bring me so much joy.

I am a child of the 1970s and 1980s and, of course, often bathed in the turquoise cult bath. Now I can surround myself with the cozy, spicy scent pleasure again and again. Miss Fenjal has done this very well.
I now hope that the scent doesn’t disappear from the shelves too quickly. It doesn’t stand out particularly among the other two Fenjal variants.

Nothing special
I still remember Fenjal as Fenjala and have fond memories of that scent. I enjoyed lying in the bath with this fragrance. Recently, I saw the scent and was curious. Additionally, at just over 5 euros for 50ml, it's very affordable.

It should be noted that the bluish color does not indicate freshness. Rather, it is a warm, slightly powdery winter scent. It starts off slightly fresh with orange and bergamot, and then continues with rose and jasmine. Together, it's not bad, but not overwhelming. In the end, patchouli is added, and that's about it. It's actually a very simply made fragrance that doesn't stand out much. The dry down for me is mossy woody and has a somewhat morbid scent with the floral notes. The longevity is about 3 hours. Among affordable fragrances, it's not a bad scent. There are some others, like Yoppy, that are unbearable and cheap. The scent does not smell cheap. You can wear it anytime without drawing attention. However, it does come off a bit aunt-like.

Tantchen's Scent
"Is this still around?" was my first thought when I recently saw it in a drugstore. It was as well-known in the seventies and eighties as the inevitable Nonchalance. One couldn't really escape the relatively "sparkling" TV commercials, at least as a man. ;-)

I never wore it myself as a boy or later as a man, of course. But there was a favorite aunt from whom I often caught a whiff of it. While it was indeed a floral-chypre fragrance for women, it was nowhere near as heavy and grandmotherly as the aforementioned Nonchalance. At least I could stand to smell Tantchen when she wore Fenjala.

What puzzles me, however, is the scent today. Of course, I sniffed it in the drugstore and garnered some "strange" looks from the female customers. "My aunt always had this" elicited a relieved and sighing "Ahhh" from the audience, but I was still not happy and left with a "Doesn't smell like it used to."

Because here it comes: Of course, memory paints with golden colors, and the scent must have smelled quite different on Tantchen than on the test strip, but: This is definitely not the scent from back then! I remember a floral-chypre woody note that was absolutely not heavy and grandmotherly and in no way synthetic. It was already balsamic-powdery and soapy-clean back then, but not as heavy, musty, and like a church stone as it is today. Moreover, the scent was called "Fenjala" back then and not "Fenjal," if I'm not completely mistaken. In any case, this is not the Fenjala scent that my aunt wore back then. I even dare to say that this is a completely different fragrance. Therefore, I refrain from giving a score.

Smells different than I thought
I first bought Miss Fenjal in the deodorant-like bottle as an eau de Parfum. Here it smells almost a bit heavy, floral sweet on me. Now I have tested the eau de Toilette and am very surprised. On me, the eau de Toilette is not fresh green.....no, rather briefly spicy with a little freshness, and then really, really woody. It develops into a heavier scent that is close to the body. Woody notes are not included according to the ingredients. Either my nose is sniffing incorrectly, or there is indeed a woody component present. Or other fragrance notes interact in such a way that a woody impression is created. The warm woody scent close to the body lasts well over 5 to 6 hours on me, on clothing even longer. It smells different from the deodorant bottle eau de Parfum, much deeper in expression, heavier, closer to the body, less floral and more woody. It doesn’t smell cheap or light or soapy at all....it smells noble with, if I take music as a picture, many bass notes in expression. The eau de Parfum reminds me much more of the bath additive from grandma's times than this scent here. I mean, the bath additive had no bass notes, but was lighter, more floral, cozy and sweet. But that is just my impression from memory, and it has indeed been a long time since I bathed in it.

Patchouli-spicy-soapy bathtub dream in turquoise from the Flower Power era. Starts with nostalgic feelings, then becomes annoying. Prefer marijuana scent :)

Soapy spicy note that stays very subtle, which is quite pleasant. Reminds me of a bath in the 70s (childhood memories).

Floral, softly woody, with an oriental touch (patchouli base), reminds me of 70s bath oil, price trophy + childhood memories!

After spraying it on, I found it unpleasant, but it does develop into a nice woody & powdery scent. Still a bit "old-fashioned".....
