The shower gel seems to be a **foreign body** here, as it appears to me. Not exactly what I expect from the good Sorcinelli. I’m not sure if I want to try his newer stuff anymore.
I really found the "synthetic sound" that becomes apparent in the base quite annoying, along with the shower gel hints. Besides the pathos and pomp of the presentation and the artistic design around it, the scent feels even smaller.
Okay, I'll wait until the darkness has washed off this citrus-sweat-synthetic and put on something suitable.
If I hadn't already classified it as uninteresting for me, it would definitely be off my list by now.
@Jeob Oh, that sounds dreamy!!! I’d love to be there too, especially to sniff around with you. I really enjoy the scent afternoons with the perfumeries near me, but a niche perfumery would be a highlight!
I’m not exactly sure what’s going on here either. On the plus side: the conversation with the owner of the little perfume shop in Gothenburg, where I extensively sniffed this, was so charming and nerdy. I had almost forgotten how nice it is to exchange thoughts about scents and the accompanying "rabbit holes" of fragrance obsession while making eye contact.
I almost feel sorry for the darkness; it doesn't deserve that... So you noticed it too, that synthetic note in the base? I chalked it up to Ambrox. Not quite the olfactory hell yet, but Google Maps says the destination is coming up soon. At least you were 0.5 points more generous, hopefully not out of fear. 😵💫
Yes, absolutely, there's something ambrocenide-like going on here that still sings loudly on fabric even after 3 days. To be honest, it smells to me like they ran out of steam for the fragrance after creating the overly pompous image, text, and packaging concept.
So far, I'm feeling the same way. The old cliché of "it's either incense or nothing" has held true in my encounters with Sorcinelli, but I'm staying curious.
2x Sorcinelli-induced confusion within a few days. Fear is the theme. Well, that translates too; I smell sharp, piercing armpit sweat. It's not pleasant, but fear sweat never is, so the theme is somewhat hit. I also smell citrus with persistence, all the way to the base. Galbanum is a bit dirty green, it blooms minimally, and there's a decent amount of musk. From halfway through: the appearance of shower gel aquatic notes. Additionally, it has a suspiciously synthetic vibe. It doesn't dominate the scent in a way that makes nothing else detectable and might contribute to the fear sweat illusion. But if a piece of fabric that came into contact with it still powerfully scents the room after 3 days, I'm guessing it's some kind of synthetic super-amber monster. In search of the silver lining, the only thing I can come up with is: less generic than "Scusami." That's not much of a silver lining and doesn't compare to the grandeur and pathos of the promotional image and text material.
If I hadn't already classified it as uninteresting for me, it would definitely be off my list by now.
😂
Everything said.
