I wish the opening was the whole thing
I adored the opening minute or two of this perfume. It is joyous and beautiful, and it reminds me of something from childhood I can't quite put my finger on.
However, I was not as enamoured of the next phase. It kind of morphs into something a bit overpowering and strong. It's not overly sweet, that's not it, but just...too loud. I don't really get a lot of the gourmand notes in this phase; what I do get is a loud, loud, loud orange blossom note that overshadows everything else.
I was not pleased with this phase--it was giving me a headache, unfortunately. So, I tried to wash it off...and this is where I learned of this perfume's incredible staying power. Reader, I tried everything: strong soap and water (twice), rubbing alcohol (twice), and it would not budge. I am in awe.
It settled down somewhat and I reached a truce with it. It turned into a nice orange blossom scent, still pretty strong but no longer headache inducing. I didn’t get any vanilla, or honey, or marshmallow. Just straight up orange blossom. Which is fine, but I'm sad the opening notes are so fleeting! They're so pretty.
