Yesterday, a quick visit to the extravagant local perfumery.
I was in the mood for something exquisite.
A heavy bottle caught my eye, exuding solidity.
Passion Boisee.
But the scent is not as massive as the bottle.
Spicy nutmeg and bright tangerine are pleasantly harmonized - Pari Pari.
Neither steals the spotlight from the other.
The oak moss provides a natural depth, blended with cedar, evoking thoughts of a reddish-golden aromatic autumn forest.
Then delicious full rum enters the scene - so appetizing that rum balls come to mind.
I recall the joke set in a pastry shop: The customer: I would like rum balls.
The pastry chef: Here you go - there’s plenty of room!
But - jokes aside - the rum indeed brings a lively touch to the fragrance composition.
The leather note makes the expressive scent a bit daring, and patchouli adds an oriental kick.
An inventive, original fragrance that pairs well with jeans, a leather outfit, or the little black dress.
Frapins are in a class of their own, usually quite bold, at least the ones I know so far. Tangerine makes scents feel pleasantly a bit aquatic, light, and bright for me. Leather? Then it definitely needs to have iris and birch tar/balm in it.
