Where's the gunpowder?

In my search for a gunpowder fragrance, I had high hopes for Beagle given its fragrance pyramid. Beagle opens with sour type of scent which isn't citrus-y. It quickly evolves into a clear oak scent. If you've ever worked with oak trim or flooring, you'll recognize the scent immediately. As it dried down, I really didn't notice any rum nor gunpowder. The scent turned into a somewhat oily - machine type of fragrance. The oak was only slightly still there, dominated by the oily-machine smell. There was also a very slight mineral type scent - I suppose that is the gunpowder contribution, but taken as a whole, there was no gunpowder scent. Longevity was only moderate - maybe about 6 hours while projection was nothing exceptional. Overall, the fragrance was a disappointment.

Your hunt for a proper gunpowder perfume is still ongoing, huh? I guess it's a hard accord to create and it's usually tackled the wrong way.
Honestly, doesn't sound like a bad layering base overall, with the sourness and oily/mineral touches, just to add some masculinity to scents.

No, that was the last of the gunpowder testing. The best one was Kościuszko but its longevity was too short.

“sour type of scent which isn’t citrusy”
I feel like almost all the Fueguias smell like this. Honestly wasn’t impressed with this brand, especially considering the pricing

That doesn't bode well for the two other samples from them that I have yet to test. Yes, they are expensive with no options in the US.
