Where's the gunpowder?

In my search for a gunpowder fragrance, I had high hopes for Beagle given its fragrance pyramid. Beagle opens with sour type of scent which isn't citrus-y. It quickly evolves into a clear oak scent. If you've ever worked with oak trim or flooring, you'll recognize the scent immediately. As it dried down, I really didn't notice any rum nor gunpowder. The scent turned into a somewhat oily - machine type of fragrance. The oak was only slightly still there, dominated by the oily-machine smell. There was also a very slight mineral type scent - I suppose that is the gunpowder contribution, but taken as a whole, there was no gunpowder scent. Longevity was only moderate - maybe about 6 hours while projection was nothing exceptional. Overall, the fragrance was a disappointment.

Squeaky Chêne

It starts with a gentle wood and a sweetness mixed with a fresh/mineral touch in the back. As it dries it becomes more dry and mossy but keeps the warmth. It blends beautifully with my skin. It's strong but very elegant, i would say despite the warmth, it is a bit distant/formal. It reminded me of Chêne by Lutens but made more clean and sober.

A niche alternative to Tom Ford Tobacco Oud

Starting with my trip to Italy, where we spontaneously went to Milan.
In a side street by the grand Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, I found the Fueguia store.
To my dismay, there was a young and fabulous Italian woman my age who also spoke German and made the perfumes sound appealing.
After a few glass sniffing sessions (the perfumes are sprayed into glasses here and not on paper strips), I became aware of the Beagle and bought it. A great wooden packaging, which is numbered. The scent wrapped in a thin layer of tree bark, along with an old map and a certificate for the purchased fragrance.
Now to the scent:
A very masculine yet powdery blend with spicy notes.
The masculinity likely comes from the combination of oak and gunpowder, which makes the scent truly exceptional. But as I said, this men's bomb is somehow soft and not overpowering. I hardly smell rum at all, which is not a problem in any way.
A really nice scent for a summer evening. During the day, I only wear it in the colder times, as it becomes quite intrusive in the heat. Because that’s exactly what I like about this scent. It has a nice sillage, which does not become intrusive or take over the room.

Furthermore, it is a true niche fragrance, as the scents can only be purchased through their own stores or their online shop.

The only downside is that the longevity is just okay. I think it lasts about 6/7 hours.

Ps: Unfortunately, I didn't get the number of the saleswoman...

UPDATE November 2020:

Since it is often a bit too heavy and dark for my everyday life, I like to mix it with Le Male Essence 1:1! This creates a truly unique and wonderful scent note.

Destinos die 1.

My second test series began today with Beagle from the Destinos fragrance line (translated as Destinations, Fates, Destinies).

Beagle is the first Fueguia where I can somewhat follow the pyramid. It starts lightly sweet floral-woody and green, then becomes softly aromatic-alcoholic - I thought more of something resinous than rum - and finally ends dry-herb after just 2 hours. I would have never guessed gunpowder here; this dry-herb note is too soft, too delicate.

Essentially, this would be a really nice EdC for absolutely every day and every occasion - if only the longevity weren't an issue. To be honest, I am a bit disappointed with the results so far, as the first tests I was able to conduct some time ago thanks to Turandot turned out somewhat differently. But I am still at the beginning...
