... the great enthusiasm and the beginning of a long-lasting search
Dear Parfumo's,
my relationship with GANT's INDIGO began, in hindsight, probably shortly after its release in 2001. Back then, I bought my fragrances without any real selection criteria; basically, it was: Blue bottle = We should get along!
At 25 years old, I was still quite young, and "the Blues" in general, and GANT's INDIGO in particular, embodied exactly my state of mind - freshness, an unrelenting drive forward, and a commitment not yet fully developed to the last detail.
I bought it maybe 2 or 3 times, had to drive a good 150km to a decent perfumery regularly - and no: the internet, but especially a well-stocked online retailer, was out of the question.
So it happened that we lost sight of each other - like teenagers after school - but never completely out of mind. At some point, I only remembered the moments we shared, had nuances of it from time to time, without any recognizable triggers, always "in my nose" again and tried to remember the name.
I started researching, over and over again, but without success. I searched countless perfumeries, nothing...
At some point, I stumbled upon this forum - that was the final breakthrough. From then on, every evening I searched one release year after another and finally found it.
A truly blissful feeling!
... the time until the postman brought the first of many restocks felt more exciting than Christmas time in childhood.
What can I say:
The seemingly present addiction, my desire, the longings - everything was sufficiently satisfied.
But, it cannot be overlooked, the "pretty blonde seat neighbor" from those school days has also grown older, matured, changed.... and I had included her a little differently in my memories.
INDIGO is explicitly an absolutely wonderful fragrance; I am not ashamed to have considered it MY FRAGRANCE in the early 2000s. In the end, however, it is rather flat, fleeting, and: a little noncommittal.
Today, I still love to wear it in my free time, on weekends - but it hasn't made it to my signature scent.
I would like to thank this forum and everyone who helped in the creation of the huge database. You have given me my INDIGO back.
If anyone is interested: I have stocked up on reserves ;-)
Warmest thanks!
