Scent

My absolute favorite summer scent.

I was young, a tender 16 when I made my decision to go to work in the distant city. Not only did I see my future in this place, but I also felt home for the first time in this destination. That is how it was when I lived through my years of training. I have experienced many things, gone through many things and some things have remained. One of them was Acqua di Gio Edt, which was the scent of my former instructor, very attentive to his appearance. I still see him in my mind's eye as he strolls up and down the alleyway on his way to work or home. He had everything I wanted, well, his relationships less so, we were very different. But the well-paid job, a great apartment and a self-confidence that nothing can get out of hand so quickly. All in all, I have done pretty well so far, including a short hairstyle and fashionable appearance.

He used to wear the scent whenever it got warmer and today I know why. There is probably no other scent that conveys this clear "freshness" better. You can go take a shower and put on that scent and you'll be even more showered. You can put on the scent all sweaty after the gym and you're fresh. Apparently there is a special molecule in it that makes this effect possible. I am simply fascinated by how this fragrance has this unique property.

Smells: I like this clear freshness, like a breeze from the sea. Simply marvellous, sometimes even a bit arousing and unmistakably 90s. This scent can be recognized and sniffed in so many places that it should actually belong to the UNESCO World Heritage. The lime is clearly noticeable in the opening, but these maritime notes are just as dominant, so that I somehow don't want to notice others. I enjoy the whole thing in itself. What I really like in the base is a warm masculine grounding despite the rather citric opening. It seems to be standing and more self-stinging as well as the wearer. Actually Eau Sauvage shouldn't be far away, but this one just looks a bit brighter, clearer than Eau Sauvage, but no less in appearance.

DURABILITY: Oh durability, that doesn't matter with such a beautiful opening. I prefer to splash every 2 hours to dive back into the waves of the fresh sea. Despite rather warm weather the scent can survive for a good 3-4 hours. What is enough here. Really. I do not need more. I think that the scent would probably last longer if it were applied thicker, but then the opening would be too much for me. So you'd better keep on applying it until you let it wear off at the end.

SILLAGE: Good in the beginning, but then quite quickly quieter and short-lived. At least with my bottle. So far it's quite ok, I had a friend in the gym who applied the scent before training and so it was fresh around him for about 20 minutes and then quiet. In my office the scent rarely left the room, really rarely. In the office it was more noticeable at close range, which was good for colleagues. Although the scent would never have bothered anyone, Crowdpleaser just did.

FLAKON: Oh, come on, you can't argue with that. Simple, and now the shape of the bottle exudes something like a special aura. It's that very same fragrance. But only if it's white and matt, the glass. Otherwise it's another one of those new additions to the Armani Collezione, almost every year. I like the feel of this mat enormously. Especially when it becomes a bit transparent through my hands, which are soaked from the shower.

Acqua di Gio is the fragrance I reach for when I have no idea what to wear, or when it has to be something light and fresh. Always with the thought "Oh come on, he always leaves" and a little bit fleeting then the memory of my trainer.

Thanks for reading
