The Winter Code
I was very curious about the new Code EdP after being thrilled by the perfume and disappointed by the EdT. I was all the more surprised when I sprayed it.
While the opening is characteristically fresh-citrusy, it is quickly replaced by a wintry sweetness - very unexpected, especially if you know the other two flankers.
In the drydown, it is orangey, spicy, and sweet, certainly not the best choice for the end of August at nearly 30 degrees, but I look forward to wearing it in winter.
Unfortunately, like with the EdT, there is a deduction for the quality of the bottle. The plastic cap is acceptable, but not when it sticks to the skin almost as soon as it comes out of the packaging. There are also issues when opening: the spray head lifts slightly when removing the cap - not as bad as with the EdT but still noticeable. Improvement only comes after repeated removal of the cap. Here too, one would expect better craftsmanship from Armani.
