Classic with Weaknesses
Armani Code is a classic for me, one that I have liked for several years.
The new release immediately caught my attention. It starts off sweet, fruity, with a pleasant spiciness. Additionally, it has a slightly powdery quality, which I really like. It remains this way for the next hour. Unfortunately, it becomes quite linear, and after about 2 hours, I only pick up tonka bean and a bit of leather.
The scent itself is not the weakness, but rather the performance and sillage, which unfortunately only score mediocre. I can smell it on my skin for about 4 - 5 hours. Sillage is good in the first hour, but hardly present afterwards.
If Armani had improved this, it would have been the release of the year for me.
My girlfriend loves it nonetheless, and if you find a good deal, you can buy it without hesitation. For going out or evening events, it works too much in the background for me. I find this very unfortunate because the DNA is very appealing and fits perfectly with a black suit.

It was calssic 20 years ago with the original formula, since then it is going downhill - predominantly flat fat

I agree with you, the longevity, projection and overall performance are a total lackluster on EDP 2024. This is only if you want an instant skin scent for the next 3-4 hours, that's it. The Parfum 2022 is the right choice.
