So red - so great!
So. I am starting again.
Almost a year ago I finished a 365 days’ review streak; meaning me writing a review every day for a year. I succeeded and it taught me a lot; about my nose; about ingredients; even about quality, I suppose. I loved it - even when it was difficult, it was never so tough that it kept me from doing it again.
Right now my collection consists of around 600 different fragrances. I have decided to reduce it to around half - maybe even less. I have even made a shelf named ‘Have to go’ and as I write, 290 of my beauties are now placed there with the purpose of selling in the near future - hopefully! They all deserve a new, loving home. I have read loads of reviews and looked into the ratings here on Parfumo. I have weighed every pro and con of all fragrances, looked at the bottles (I am a bottle-o-maniac), smelled and tested and then made my decision.
The fragrance that starts this 365days race is carefully chosen. It is one of my newer fragrances, bought on a recent trip to Gran Canaria. I went to a perfume shop at a mall because I was looking for L’Interdit Rouge but ended up trying Rouge Ultime instead and… fell in love…
This is NOT the “airport duty free shop kinda-love”. This is a love that will last for a long time. This perfume is carefully chosen for my collection. If you have not tried it yet, be ready for a blast - that is if you like sweet/floral fragrances. This one has everything you need.
There is, to my nose, an almost minty note in the beginning; a freshness that took me by surprise the first time. And the second. And third… and then it starts blooming; a magical mix of jasmine and neroli. So seductive. So sweet. So intriguing. I was stunned the first time. It has a depth that is in a league of its own. And it just keeps going.
The feeling I get with this fragrance is truly red. As red as the bottle which is so chubby it makes me smile every time I hold it - I love chubby bottles! I imagine a pair of lips with the most gorgeous red lipstick; glossy and perfect. If the colour of the bottle is a code for the juice I cannot wait to try L’Interdit Rouge, since it has a darker cherry shade. I suppose I will have to add a bottle of that to my collection as well.
But here goes L’Interdit Rouge Ultime into my collection for good.
So gorgeous… so red… so beautiful!
