The ugly stepsister
Have you ever woken up in a cold sweat at 3 a.m. and wondered which of your many perfumes you would save from the blazing flames of a fire? Me neither. So the perfume thing...and yet I unexpectedly found an answer: I love my L'Interdits! I'm quite sure of it. Maybe I should put the bottles together in a little bag. I still have a pink goodie bag from Valentino - or would that be blasphemy?
The bottle comes in the usual rounded, slightly bulbous shape and transparent glass. At first glance, it looked like L'Interdit Tubéreuse Noire to me, which really confused me. I would have expected a little more creativity in the design.
The fragrance seems very loud to me when I spray it on. Not so much that it tingles in the nose, more in the direction of filling the room. At first, it smells like the original but more intense, somehow stronger. In the drydown, something green, almost herbaceous, takes over the L'Interdit DNA. Then it also becomes a little quieter. It lasts about 4 to 5 hours on my skin.
I have to admit that I was very impressed by the opening. However, the drydown is too harsh for me. I would even go so far as to describe L'Interdit Parfum as unisex (apart from the fact that everyone can wear what they want, of course).
I find that each flanker has its own personality, despite the typical L'Interdit "bubblegum" tuberose. Anyone who has already found their favorite can consider themselves lucky and, in my opinion, skip one or two flankers.
If you have been looking for a less sweet, almost "masculine" L'Interdit or generally like it a little more tart, I recommend giving the fragrance a try. Personally, I have found my favorite (L'Interdit Eau de Parfum Rouge Ultime) and I am excited to see what comes next!

I think your initial question is really great, because I've never really thought about this topic before. Thanks for the informative review.
