A Balsamic Dream

The observation after the new Chypre from Godet was that it actually isn't a Chypre.
Well, how about this one?
I would say it has significantly more signs of a Chypre, but primarily this is a balsamic dream.
Yes, I smell aldehydes, with a slight freshness, not too citrusy, more like bergamot.
And there are also flowers, probably the rose, but others as well.
A slight soapiness, but minimal.
Quickly, a light creaminess comes into play.
While the new version has a slightly masculine touch, this one is initially very feminine and elegant.
Subtly powdery.
It becomes a bit darker and balsamic.
Now it is also well wearable for men.
The dark and balsamic notes become more intense.
Definitely benzoin, or something similar, amber is likely involved too.
It's wonderful.
It has an incredible depth and in this depth is a hint of freshness.
Maybe the moss?
All in all, a soft, balsamic dream.
I find the current one nice, but this one is 1000 times more beautiful.
It is much fuller, deeper, and has so much more presence.
It was a blind purchase and for me, a total hit.

Although I'm completely unfamiliar with the scent (not by name, but by smell), your description makes it sound like a must-buy, or at least a must-try. Thanks for this great comment!

I hope you still shout out a statement about it, Yatagan. A lot more people read that than my comments, and it deserves it :)

A super beautiful scent that I just tested as well. You described it VERY accurately. I would also say: balsamic with an underlying chypre structure. Bergamot, floral notes, amber (creamy, bright), a bit of green (moss), wood. You picked a very elusive fragrance for your comment. Respect!

Congratulations on this beautiful, old treasure. This one is also the original and completely unfiltered. I wanted to get it for myself too, but I never did. Now the desire is awakened again!.. ;)
