Feeling your lips among evening primroses
We sit among hundreds of evening primroses. It is a warm summer night and I lean against you.
“Look, the fireflies!” you whisper. Smiling, I stretch out my fingers, the wings tickling my skin. The insect buzzes and flickers and flickers and buzzes and disappears into the grass.
The large yellow flowers glow like stars in the orange light of our lantern.
You hand me the bag of roasted almonds. I pop one between my lips. It melts sweetly on my tongue.
I watch you from the side. How wonderful you are. The curve of your nose, your jawline, your deep black eyelashes. “I wonder if you taste as sweet as the candied almonds?” I murmur, not expecting you to hear it.
But you turn your head to me and twist your mouth into a grin. “Try it out.”
And then you kiss me. Your soft lips part against mine. Your tongue tip nudges against my tongue tip. You are incredibly sweet. You taste like almonds, yes, but you also taste like this warm summer night, among the evening primroses. You taste like stardust, fireflies, and a promise. You taste like home. And you taste like you.
.
The scent smells to me like a rounded blend of tonka, jasmine, and fruits (peach? Light plum?). Initially fresher and later a bit creamier. Caramel and almonds are also present, without the fragrance losing its lightness. What I find most astonishing is the extreme longevity. Even after showering with shampoo, my hair still smells of this Gritti fragrance! Wonderful.
And even over the long duration, the scent remains very consistent. There are a few shifts in what I perceive; as mentioned, the fragrance becomes more vanilla-like and creamier without losing depth. All in all, the scent experience remains relatively constant: a totally reliable fragrance!
