Beyond the Wall Gritti 2022

A big surprise for me. I casually received a sample of this fragrance and what can I say except wow, this scent completely blew me away, it’s exactly my style. Longevity is unfortunately quite weak, sillage is very good for the first hour, after that the scent becomes very close to the skin.

The fragrance starts spicy but very creamy. It’s very hard to describe because I haven’t smelled anything similar. I detect a very gentle, very creamy spice, I’m guessing it’s the Artemisia, paired with a hint of black tea. Slowly, a very soft, almost powdery iris emerges, an iris that smells super soft and is a true feast for my nose. All the while, one of the most beautiful sandalwood notes I’ve ever smelled lies like a light veil over the other notes, making the scent slightly smoky from the very beginning. Not dark smoke, more like a very light smoke, like a soft white cloud. In the further drydown, one of my favorite notes, cardamom, comes through beautifully and ensures that my nose is glued to my wrist. The musk, which also becomes more present, is soft and very pleasant, almost milky.
Addendum: The scent is now in my collection. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with the poor longevity, which is even worse than I remembered. The fact is that the scent has to be removed again due to the lack of performance.
