Today, I would like to focus on a Guerlain fragrance that comes once again from the master perfumer Thierry Wasser.
Just like Coconut Fizz, each AA fragrance combines the freshness of an Eau de Cologne.
WHAT ALL ALLEGORIA fragrances have in common, and what is often criticized, is their short longevity. In this regard, I can mention that Guerlain intended this fully. I once had the opportunity to participate in a small perfume training at Guerlain. During this, they also presented the AA line and explained that Aqua Allegoria fragrances are designed not to last long, but to be sprayed up to four times a day: after breakfast, for lunch, in the afternoon, and in the evening.
The perfumer wanted to capture a scent of an early morning when the world is still asleep and slowly waking up. The idea came during a morning ride on horseback. Somewhere outside the hustle and bustle, in the midst of nature, where a unique mist hangs in the air, very clear, moist, and fresh. It is unadulterated because the world is just beginning to awaken.
Thierry Wasser wanted to encapsulate this fresh, light scent in his AA flacons, a fragrance that does not develop much but reminds one of dew, clarity, and is invigorating. It should give the wearer the opportunity at any time of the day to feel enveloped in the mist of this morning scent.
As for Coconut Fizz itself, I must say that even though it is generally a summer fragrance, strangely enough, it also fits well for other seasons like spring and autumn (I am a lightweight when it comes to scents). I layer it, for example, with Flora Cherrysia or Orange Soleia.
Coconut Fizz is, like a day at the beach, water in sunlight, sand beneath the feet, blue sky.
Immediately after spraying, I am embraced by a fresh, clear scent of coconut water that has a slightly exotic touch and is lively thanks to the bergamot. The freshness remains throughout, and the surroundings are eager to take another whiff.
The coconut note in the top note is not too dominant or in the foreground in the heart and base notes, as is the case with some other fragrances. Instead, it is very well balanced with the other components and yet consistently perceptible. A truly beautiful, light mix with a subtly floral note in the dry down.
So, for anyone who can warm up to the scent concept of the AA line and accepts the short longevity, they should at least invest in one of the bottles.
I initially completely underestimated the longevity of Coconut Fizz. In my experience, it's not that fleeting at all. I enjoyed wearing it in the summer two years ago.
Great explanations of the AA concept.
The AA Grapefruit, the AA Basil-Mandarins, and the Teazzura last about half a day for me...
But I don't ride horses, and the bike doesn't smell that strong :)
Spraying it 4 times a day? Maybe just a clever marketing strategy from Guerlain ;-) But I really enjoyed the refreshing coconut - and I would love to participate in a perfume training like that. Can't you do a Zoom training? (: Fizz-water trophy!
A lovely comment that makes me crave a vacation! I'm not really a fan of the AA scents and I'm glad they don't last long ;)) Only the Pamplelune has really captured my heart.
I can't get into Coconutz Fizz. During a blind challenge my daughter did with me and my own fragrances, I couldn't guess it until the end. But each time it made me shudder - - is this one of MINE? Now she has it.
That leaves Orange Soleia... and that's wonderful.
Thanks for your comment.
Lusstich. You mention all 3 AA fragrances that I have or used to have. The Flora Cherrysia developed a musty-sour note on my skin - I gave it to my neighbor, who doesn’t have that issue. In return, she sponsored me a "replacement cherry" - the Cerisier en Fleurs from Yves Rocher.
For me, the Aqua Allegorias usually last late into the evening. I have more fleeting scents. Unfortunately, this one wasn't for me. But I'm convinced that everyone will find their fragrance in this line.
Wonderful and interesting comment! I really like the series too, but as you mentioned, many suffer from a weaker H&S. I'll remember this one, thanks for the lovely introduction!
I really like it too. But for me personally, it doesn't fit in the fall/winter. I don't think a scent like this needs to last eight hours. That's the nice thing about being able to refresh yourself with the fragrance throughout the day. Great comment!
The scent sounds really delicious :)

Especially in everyday life, lighter scents are nice and practical.
