Light as Coconut Water
Coconut Fizz was fresh, airy, and smelled unmistakably like coconut. It was pleasant, easy to wear, and felt like summer in a bottle.

The only issue: it was very light. Too light, maybe. It quickly faded and stuck close to the skin, leaving almost no sillage. Nice while it lasted, but gone too soon.

And for such a simple scent, the price felt a bit steep.

An easy winner of fresh floral coconut
Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Coconut Fizz is new acquisition / community blind buy, a 2019 release in the vast Aqua Allegoria line with a fresh floral coconut milk vibe, lightly pleasant and, as the name implies, slightly effervescent, kind of like a crossover between fresh coconut soda and a fresh floral (probably women’s) summer scent. In particular, the freesia stands out as the only actual floral note listed, with some added freshness from bergamot and a sweet dry down of sandalwood and tonka, and tonka especially pairs well with coconut. It’s fresh and easily enjoyable, slightly feminine but overall so pleasantly unisex as to defy convention a bit.

It’s a decent performer and there are deals to be found, I’m sure; I was lucky to buy my own bottle for a reasonable price. The retail pricing is $130 for 125ml, $95 for 75ml via department stores like Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s, etc. so it’s pricey if considered more of a designer / entry level fragrance but more reasonable within the context of a perfume house with niche / higher-end offerings.

Like a Day at the Beach...
Today, I would like to focus on a Guerlain fragrance that comes once again from the master perfumer Thierry Wasser.

Just like Coconut Fizz, each AA fragrance combines the freshness of an Eau de Cologne.
WHAT ALL ALLEGORIA fragrances have in common, and what is often criticized, is their short longevity. In this regard, I can mention that Guerlain intended this fully. I once had the opportunity to participate in a small perfume training at Guerlain. During this, they also presented the AA line and explained that Aqua Allegoria fragrances are designed not to last long, but to be sprayed up to four times a day: after breakfast, for lunch, in the afternoon, and in the evening.
The perfumer wanted to capture a scent of an early morning when the world is still asleep and slowly waking up. The idea came during a morning ride on horseback. Somewhere outside the hustle and bustle, in the midst of nature, where a unique mist hangs in the air, very clear, moist, and fresh. It is unadulterated because the world is just beginning to awaken.
Thierry Wasser wanted to encapsulate this fresh, light scent in his AA flacons, a fragrance that does not develop much but reminds one of dew, clarity, and is invigorating. It should give the wearer the opportunity at any time of the day to feel enveloped in the mist of this morning scent.

As for Coconut Fizz itself, I must say that even though it is generally a summer fragrance, strangely enough, it also fits well for other seasons like spring and autumn (I am a lightweight when it comes to scents). I layer it, for example, with Flora Cherrysia or Orange Soleia.

Coconut Fizz is, like a day at the beach, water in sunlight, sand beneath the feet, blue sky.

Immediately after spraying, I am embraced by a fresh, clear scent of coconut water that has a slightly exotic touch and is lively thanks to the bergamot. The freshness remains throughout, and the surroundings are eager to take another whiff.

The coconut note in the top note is not too dominant or in the foreground in the heart and base notes, as is the case with some other fragrances. Instead, it is very well balanced with the other components and yet consistently perceptible. A truly beautiful, light mix with a subtly floral note in the dry down.

So, for anyone who can warm up to the scent concept of the AA line and accepts the short longevity, they should at least invest in one of the bottles.

Thank you for reading!

Guerlain's Summer Feeling
For the second summer in a row, Coconut Fizz is a summer favorite for me ...
it's about time to dedicate a comment to this wonderful fragrance!

"The summer makes people dream!"
-Paul Keller-

I dream myself into the coconut water paradise ... white beaches, palm trees, sea breeze, turquoise Caribbean feeling :)

About the scent:
Coconut Fizz actually starts immediately with a creamy and completely unsweet coconut.
Bergamot comes through and gives the fragrance a delicate citrus note. I also perceive freesia as a subtle floral veil. Where the fruits are supposed to be hiding, I can't say ... luckily I don't smell any sour cucumber as described by some here :)
Woody notes from sandalwood and a rather dry-mineral tonka bean (which is not overly sweet) are also present. Of course, musk cannot be missing, even though it doesn't appear in the pyramid :)
Creamy-woody-musky is the base with the coconut that really has a long-lasting presence :)
For me, it's not a typical coconut scent (the usual suspects like Tiarè, Frangipani, etc. are missing), and that's exactly why I like it so much, also because the scent doesn't remind me of Raffaello as it often does with coconut.
Wearable especially in summer but also a mood lifter in spring.
Unisex absolutely!
The bottle is, as always, a real eye-catcher.
The longevity is just under 7 hours, which is not bad for an Aqua Allegoria. The sillage is rather quiet, but that doesn't matter at all for summer fragrances!

Conclusion:
I'm in coconut water paradise :)
*Aloha*
Not too sweet & wonderfully creamy-woody musk in the base!
Guerlain's summer feeling ... mmmhh :)

It's definitely worth a try!
Fortunately, it's now available here as well, because initially it was said that Germany didn't buy it ;)

Coconut Fizz
"Coconut Fizz" is my second fragrance for the vacation this year. Blindly and quickly packed, as the flight was waiting. And how does it hold up after a few days of summer, south, sun, beach, and sensuality?

Good to very good. It is a very watery, delicate hint of coconut milk paired with a fruity-sweet vibe that you also know from "Teazzura." Never intrusive, which is a real art when it comes to coconut. There are almost a few rosy impressions, which could well be melon + freesias. It is not particularly sparkling; rather, it is delicate, intimate, and airy. Sometimes too delicate, when you can hardly notice it or it has already faded away. But when you focus on it, it can be delightful. A lovely couple's fragrance. Caribbean and chill, sexy and natural. "Virgin Island Water" in a feminine version meets "Still Life In Rio." No comparison to celebrity fragrances from Taylor Swift to Rihanna, which often tread similar waters. I never sense synthetic notes or intrusiveness here. Everything remains relaxed, natural, and like a gentle kiss from the Raffaello commercial. Like a virgin cocktail, like a turquoise beach dress, a natural beauty only with thick pink lipstick, a pavilion in the water of a lagoon, an electric jet ski. Warm and delightful. Green, grassy, ripe, and sometimes even "fig-like."

Bottle: cute and pretty and as always
Sillage: a hint and one of the more watery, transparent olfactory coconuts
Longevity: weakens and becomes skin-close after 3-5 hours, if at all

Conclusion: Coconut, water, softness. "Coconut Fizz" is neither a true hit for Guerlain nor the downfall that some have talked about. I actually like it quite a bit, even though it seems a bit too feminine on me. But it is also listed among women's fragrances. And on my girlfriend, it is even a bit more beautiful.

Coconut Fizz opens with a sweet, creamy coconut water, tropical fruits and a fresh, slightly floral, note. Youngful scent for spring/summer.

A fresh aquatic scent which reminds me of Ege Nishane in a much much lighter version. Ege is beast mode, this is edt so its much lighter.

Coconut water with a lot of freesia. Cute but slightly suncream-like. The younger one from Guerlain's house.

Guerlain is becoming more synthetic. So far, this hasn't been as noticeable with the AAs. Still, it brings beach party vibes: coconut drink.
