Almond Cream to Fall in Love With!
I admit, I expected something different. Light bottles always evoke associations of freshness & lightness in me. Eau de Coton - I imagine a fresh fabric softener & cotton scent. In reality, the fragrance is anything but light and fresh; it is a true gourmand. This comes as a surprise.
I need to process the first impression and initially find the small sprayer on my wrist bothersome. Where is my Perwoll April Fresh? In the afternoon, I give the liquid another chance. Freshly showered, another spritz lands in the crook of my arm.
You get pretty much what is described in the fragrance notes here. First, a freshly cut, juicy orange quickly transforms into a creamy-sweet almond cream. The orange-almond-musk cream merges into a beautiful feel-good scent that blends with my skin, truly dreamily beautiful! I don’t even know what’s happening to me; I’m in love.
I used to always think I didn’t like sweet scents. They seemed too cheesy to me, yuck. The associations I have with sweet likely stem from my teenage years, filled with foggy changing rooms where young girls douse themselves in vanilla-cherry deodorant, carrying that heavy sweetness around all day.
It was only later that I realized it could be different. Sweet and gourmand can also be elegant and high-quality; Guerlain is the best example of this. Enthusiastically and in love, I wear my Eau de Coton to work the next day - may no one judge me for the fluffy musk-almond cloud I carry with me all day.
Many thanks to Hannah for the decant! A bottle is, of course, already on its way.
