The Silver Sister

After I was so thoroughly impressed by Halston Woman Amber, I absolutely had to have the older silver sister as well. I ordered it blindly and I was not disappointed by it either.

Halston Woman is not a loud, but a very beautiful fragrance. The bergamot at the beginning is therefore rather quiet and not sharp or harsh. I find it difficult to identify fruits (other than citrus fruits) because I am not a fan of fruit in general and prefer vegetables and salads. Therefore, I would never have been able to pick out the blackcurrant. However, I can recognize the marigold, as I have it in my balcony boxes.

The jasmine is lush, but not intrusive or overly bold, as it forms a wonderful connection with the rose and the powdery/creamy iris root. Buttery soft and creamy delicate, I cannot describe this fragrance experience any other way. But wait, it continues. The fragrance journey is not over yet.

HW becomes even warmer, softer, more cuddly, and if possible, even creamier. I cannot determine which of the base notes adds this special "melt." I suspect that there is also a hint of vanilla involved, because amber with vanilla, in the right proportion, gives me such a cotton-soft impression. It is simply a successful composition - everything fits and integrates wonderfully into the overall concept.

HW is a very friendly, appealing, but also mature fragrance that I like very much. In direct comparison, however, I prefer the more serious, golden sister, but that is, like everything in life, a matter of taste. Why is that? No idea, but this hint of melancholy just seems to touch me more. In terms of longevity (about 10 - 12 hours), the two are equally matched, and I will wear them both enthusiastically, depending on my mood.

Finally, I would like to note that my comment refers to the Eau de Parfum version of Halston Woman. When I searched for the fragrance online, I found that there is also an Eau de Toilette version. Whether and to what extent there are differences, I cannot say, as HW is not divided into EdP and EdT here on Parfumo.

And I still haven't managed to get closer to the golden version, even though I would order it blindly based on your words. This one, the light sister, really does seem beautiful too.

How informative that you also dedicated a comment to this silver version. Halston Woman is, in my opinion, more straightforward and pleasant. The golden version probably has too much leather for me, and it's not sweet enough. You call it the "serious sister," which is quite accurate. How nice for you that both blind buys bring you joy.

The golden sister is still in its packaging and waiting for a test. But your comment about the silver counterpart sounds very tempting as well... *sigh*

This is another very successful description. It seems to me that the golden and silver sister are flying a bit under the radar. The golden version has sparked a lot of enthusiasm in me, and I think I would really like this one too.
