Henry Jacques makes some very good fragrances, but unfortunately not with Oud. The Oud just doesn't smell like quality, like for example with an Ensar or Agar Aura scent.
Some things just don't work for everyone, but this one seemed to resonate with you a bit more than the last one. We know the skin experience from the oil variants. It's always tough when a brand consistently uses a specific synthetic note that doesn't quite sit well with you.
Unfortunately, I can't share the enthusiasm. I have the same sample as Sunnah, who also only gave it a 7.5. I can't say if the fragrance has been reformulated. It's quite close to us as well.
I wouldn't really call this Oud, but rather good leather. It has something rough, sensual, yet elegant, somewhat like an Eau d'Hermès. I don't perceive any floral notes at all. The vanilla in the amber accord is nicely integrated, without being overly sweet.
However, it feels a bit dull overall. There's some synthetic cream note that I've noticed in many Henry fragrances as well.
I know much better Oud fragrances. Personally, I’m not warming up to this house.
Thank goodness for the price, I must say.
Thanks to Sunnah for the testing opportunity.
