It's a lovely, cooling, warm-weather fragrance with a strong rubber band note that only appears on the skin and doesn't exist on paper. I assume what others perceive as "machine scent" and perhaps "banana leaf scent" my brain translates to "rubber-y".
Back onto the main subject, you'd think that I'd hate a perfume that makes me smell of rubber bands but I don't. H24 starts off aromatic, herbacious and a little green in a pleasantly cooling way. The opening feels almost watery, though that particular feeling will disappear quickly. It goes through a slightly soapy phase somewhere in the middle and finally dries down into beautiful, long-lasting, mossy woods, dry and classy.
It's a really interesting pairing of notes that read as classic, mature and traditional and notes that feel futuristic, machine-like or metallic. Projection is okay, not too strong and not too pathethic, longevity is pretty good. It's a solid office workhorse, elegant enough for an important meeting, universal enough to wear pretty much year round - though I think it shines more in warm weather. If you're someone who dislikes moss in fragrance H24 probably won't work for you, although this particular moss is quite balanced and doesn't feel terribly dusty nor terribly damp and vegetal.
