Patchouli Sauvage by Houbigant is definitely one of my favorites when it comes to patchouli fragrances. The scent manages to be elegant, warm, and incredibly pleasant to wear at the same time.
After a brief, fresh citrus opening, the patchouli quickly takes center stage and gradually unfolds its full aroma. It neither comes across as too earthy nor too heavy, but rather is very cleanly integrated and pleasantly soft.
As the fragrance develops, it becomes warmer and culminates in a truly beautiful, rounded drydown that lingers on the skin for a long time. It is this warm depth that makes it so special for me.
Additionally, it boasts really strong longevity and above-average sillage, without ever coming across as unpleasantly loud. For me, it is an excellently crafted patchouli scent with a lot of character.
