I can't pinpoint the exact moment; it was around 89-90: I was out and about in our little town when an old friend and schoolmate crossed my path. How are you, what are you up to, the usual small talk. Anyway, suddenly he pulled a little bottle out of his sleeve and before I even realized what was happening, he dripped some on my hand saying: You have to try this! With that, he was gone. Of course, I immediately sniffed it, and that was my revelation. It was all over for me. A new universe opened up. For someone who had only known Axe or Gammon until then, this was like holy water. The scent wouldn’t let go of me, and I had to know what it was. I grabbed the phone, interviewed colleagues, and headed to the perfume shop. Boss Spirit accompanied me for four to five years. Of course, it wasn’t worn every day, but only on special occasions. Until one day I could no longer stand it and made the fateful mistake: I THREW AWAY THE HALF-FULL BOTTLE!!! And today I could kick myself for it! How I wish I could have it back.
