Cinnamonic ghost
Sandalwood of a very gentle, milky-tonic-water type, like sandalwood oil stirred into Schweppes Bitter Tonic, warmed by a burnt clove note that smells like singed rubber or wood. The minty shell on the clove does lend a mouthwash vibe alright if you think too hard about it, but hey, it's easy not to, so just don't.

I love this while it lasts (which is not long) and mourn it when it's gone but the trajectory from one state to the other is too short for me to consider investing. Not that I could now anyway. It's gone, disappeared into the mists of time, which is how I like to imagine Olivia Giacobetti designs all her perfumes - fading out politely, leaving just a ghostly presence in the air to tip you off that it was ever there in the first place.

The Dominant Baker
It’s Christmas time, but he has never been good with cinnamon stars. Much too mainstream, he thinks. But how individual is he really?

He would like to be a dominant type, but in his heart, he is a cuddler. He smells of his bakery, and his favorite spices are clearly recognizable. He works with nutmeg, cardamom, and bay leaves, baked over cedar wood. Nothing else goes into his oven, even if he adorns himself with more; he wants to be special. And modern. Meanwhile, he has taken over the family business from his grandfather and hardly changed the recipes. His baked goods do taste a bit old-fashioned. You can buy them; his cardamom rolls are better than the standard goods in the bakery chains next door. But gourmet food can indeed be found elsewhere. Solid baking craftsmanship, simple recipes. Just for a little hunger in between.

A hint of coffee with plenty of oriental coffee spices, especially cardamom, cinnamon + nutmeg. Served on a wooden tray. Strong + dry.

I always add a pinch of oriental coffee spice to my coffee and it smells just like this fragrance. Exquisite, delicious, spicy.

Cardamom, bay leaf, and nutmeg are definitely dominant - yet not heavy at all. For me, it's a theme scent. The spice rack theme is spot on!

Rum with many spices, cinnamon-heavy, warm and spicy, broad with a musky undertone. Idole by Lubin is direct and unstyled. Beautiful.

A cardamom-flavored, sweetened coffee at a spice stall in the Shuk. Plus a cinnamon star. Tastes good & smells fantastic!
