Missed the mark again...?

Sometimes I like to choose a fragrance that is a bit off the mark.
Then I wear a fresh summer cologne in the dead of winter, choose a very masculine scent to go with my little black dress, or, like today, wear an evening fragrance to class.
At least the scents are labeled as such - not by me, and not always with my consent, but that doesn't really matter here.
"Evening edged in Gold" is presented as a fragrant complement to evening wear, and as such, I can well imagine the golden liquid not only because of its name, but not exclusively - it acts too much like a "rock in the surf" on stormy, cold days like today and cannot easily be blown away by a strong gust of wind.
And yes - plum is not only abundantly present in the top note, even alcoholic, which might be responsible for the warming effect I feel immediately after application, making this evening scent a very pleasant companion for winter days for me, a frostbite.
Gold osmanthus and angel's trumpets sound very pre-Christmas by name, and I would love to know how they smell on their own to consciously identify them in the overall composition - however, my nose filters out floral notes from the increasingly spicy and deeper mélange, but I cannot name them or clearly distinguish them from other ingredients.
Saffron and cinnamon, on the other hand, are clearly recognizable and should contribute to the depth of the radiance.
For me, the fragrance indeed develops an ever stronger association towards 750 gold; it radiates a slightly matte, dark, heavy warmth from the floral center, which nonetheless does not venture into gourmand or oriental directions.
This very rich, comprehensive status quo remains with me without further development for several hours; woods and leather do not emerge on my skin - I sense them in the background, but without looking at the fragrance pyramid, I would not have suspected them in this composition at all.
And even though the name sounds a bit pretentious or even snobbish: These attributes do not apply to the contents of the bottle.
"Evening edged in Gold" unexpectedly comes across as erotic - not cheap and "easy to get" like a slightly too short, slightly too tight mini, but sensually seductive like deep red velvet that clings heavily and lavishly.
And with that, it might just be an evening fragrance after all...

I tried a sample today and find the scent wonderful! It's somehow extraordinary. Fruity, woody, and gourmand all at once. The plum definitely rocks!

I do like angel's trumpets, but this strange opening of the scent and the unpleasant plum/osmanthus aroma is disgusting. Not really my thing, but the angel's trumpet comes through nicely in the heart.

I tested it today, and for me, it's a huge, golden peach-plum. Thanks for your comment :-)

I can only recommend that you NEVER smell Angel's Trumpet in real life and then EEiG! It's like a sledgehammer right in the face. You don't deserve that for your beautiful writing. :-)
