Tender is the evening edged in gold
An extraordinary description of this scent right from the name.
I have no idea how the Angel's Trumpet smells but I have a good idea how the gold osmanthus, the cinnamon and the plum work here and create a warm balm, like the one you feel in the air at sunset.
There is nothing cool or sharp here. Just a very calm and tender envelopping scent.
Serene and golden.

Evening Edged in Gold
This fragrance opens with an accord in which spices such as saffron and fruits like plum mix beautifully on a base of leather . The top accord is warm, rich, velvety and vaguely reminds me of Daim Blond. What is different to Daim Blond is that underneath I smell a high-pitched sweet floral note which as the fragrance progresses is absorbed into accord. This fragrance is like Daim Blond with less suede and more golden flowers and therefore well-suited for those who are sensitive to birch tar and the like. The leather note however, is too weak to carry this impression for long, and after two hours the fragrance cannot but reveals its mostly vegetal nature. Smelled from far away it is still reminiscent of Daim Blond, but smelled up close it is different and rather flat.

Yellow peaches spread over a light suede
The warm, milky peach hue of the opening reminds me a little of Trèsor (Lancôme), Dolce Vita (Dior) or even Champs-Elysées (Guerlain), all of which I wore as a young woman, so immediately this scores high on the likeability factor. Evening Edged in Gold is a soft, plummy-peachy suede framed by a ruffled cuff of small spring flowers, honeysuckle, and early jasmine. The osmanthus accent is a bit player, not the star, as its delicate apricot skin nuances are swamped by the darker, jammier plum or peach note.

A very sweet, insistent musk brings up the rear. Very pretty, and the nostalgia factor gives my heart a quick tug, but realistically, if I want something like this (soft, fruity suede), I can turn to several fragrances already in my collection, such as Daim Blond (Serge Lutens) or Bottega Veneta EDP (Bottega Veneta). It does have me hankering for a new bottle of Champs-Elysées, though

Missed the mark again...?
Sometimes I like to choose a fragrance that is a bit off the mark.
Then I wear a fresh summer cologne in the dead of winter, choose a very masculine scent to go with my little black dress, or, like today, wear an evening fragrance to class.
At least the scents are labeled as such - not by me, and not always with my consent, but that doesn't really matter here.
"Evening edged in Gold" is presented as a fragrant complement to evening wear, and as such, I can well imagine the golden liquid not only because of its name, but not exclusively - it acts too much like a "rock in the surf" on stormy, cold days like today and cannot easily be blown away by a strong gust of wind.
And yes - plum is not only abundantly present in the top note, even alcoholic, which might be responsible for the warming effect I feel immediately after application, making this evening scent a very pleasant companion for winter days for me, a frostbite.
Gold osmanthus and angel's trumpets sound very pre-Christmas by name, and I would love to know how they smell on their own to consciously identify them in the overall composition - however, my nose filters out floral notes from the increasingly spicy and deeper mélange, but I cannot name them or clearly distinguish them from other ingredients.
Saffron and cinnamon, on the other hand, are clearly recognizable and should contribute to the depth of the radiance.
For me, the fragrance indeed develops an ever stronger association towards 750 gold; it radiates a slightly matte, dark, heavy warmth from the floral center, which nonetheless does not venture into gourmand or oriental directions.
This very rich, comprehensive status quo remains with me without further development for several hours; woods and leather do not emerge on my skin - I sense them in the background, but without looking at the fragrance pyramid, I would not have suspected them in this composition at all.
And even though the name sounds a bit pretentious or even snobbish: These attributes do not apply to the contents of the bottle.
"Evening edged in Gold" unexpectedly comes across as erotic - not cheap and "easy to get" like a slightly too short, slightly too tight mini, but sensually seductive like deep red velvet that clings heavily and lavishly.
And with that, it might just be an evening fragrance after all...

Flowers, Cinnamon, and Evening Sun
Evening Edged in Gold starts with a somewhat medicinal impression, reminiscent of hairspray. This medicinal impression is initially very prominent. It reminds me of lacquer paint. A type that I would love to sniff.

Slowly, a noticeable iris note emerges. Now one should be prepared for the typical powderiness, but it doesn't quite settle in. It is the lacquer paint accord that absorbs the powderiness. But the scent of iris is present and shares itself with the lacquer paint accord. Or am I mistaken here? Iris is not listed in the pyramid!

The lacquer paint accord has a strong, dark tint, also untypical for iris fragrances. What lies behind the lacquer paint? A fresh spray reveals it - there are dark berries, most likely blackcurrants. Well, it is supposed to be plum and osmanthus. But I believe osmanthus is a magical ingredient. It transforms one component into another. (See my comment on Frankfurt Kitchen). I think this also contributes to the initially medicinal impression. Additionally, the cinnamon within this note is very noticeable. It brings a rounded opulence to the scent. Slowly, a hint of vanilla also develops. Despite the plum and cinnamon, it is not a gourmand fragrance.

Eventually, everything moves in a slightly gasoline-like direction. Fleur du Male and Le Male by Gaultier come to mind. Here are flowers like in Fleur du Male and cinnamon like in Le Male. Woods and leather become palpable as the base for all this and contribute to the dark sharpness of this perfume. Evening Edged in Gold is, for me, a highly floral fragrance, but the floral notes are repeatedly broken and recede after a while. Until then, they are embedded in a woody, dark, but also medicinally sharp context.

The name is well chosen. The scent has the opulence of a magnificent sunset in a southern country where cinnamon grows. The air is filled with floral fragrance and cinnamon aroma.
As a cinnamon perfume, Evening Edged in Gold is much more interesting and complex than others; I particularly think of the somewhat flat Rousse by Serge Lutens.

Evening Edged in Gold has been classified here as a women's fragrance. However, I find it rather unisex. It brings enough sharpness and woodiness for this. I can well imagine wearing it occasionally. As an everyday perfume, it is too opulent.

Oh yes, the longevity is moderate. So wearing it for 2 hours in the evening, after that, everything is gone.

Tingly fruitiness, enchanting floral scents, but overall a bit too trivial floral. Certainly a pleasant everyday scent for women.

Golden pollen...woody, spicy, and slightly powdery with a fine leather note that I even like. Captivating and sensual...golden!

White flower cream, autumnal plum compote, with a touch of spicy dust on top.
Sweet but bearable and somehow cozy.

The spicy-sweet angel's trumpet roars into my nose so much that all the other components are mercilessly overshadowed.

Like a airy golden organza shawl. Starts floral, then a light medicinal note (is it essence of benzoin?). Plum gently joins in, matte (gold) :)

Tipsy floral-fruity, opulent, intoxicating... A rather dense, rich women's fragrance underpinned by fine woods for dramatists.

This plum crawls straight out of the rum pot, stumbles into the angel's trumpet, is gilded by osmanthus, and spiced with fine woods.

Juicy yellow plum and radiant honey-sweet blossoms.
Then it becomes creamy, dense, subtle, with the softest animalic touch.
Irresistibly beautiful!

Overwhelming, warm, lush, rather challenging, as plum, saffron, and angel's trumpet come across as extravagant and loud... wearable in moderate doses.

Plum + a bit of cinnamon + distinct saffron - white flowers 1 note is unpleasantly rubbery to me, the 2 beautiful - delicate floral: orange-edged Brugmansia.
