The Sweet Mint

Today I am reviewing the second Instituto Espanol, a brand I recently discovered. This is a Spanish label that positions its products in the low-price sector.

The first fragrance (Poseidon God) that I tested completely convinced me.
With Poseidon Man, we are now going in a slightly different direction, but I can also say in advance that the price-performance ratio seems extremely favorable.
I purchased 150 ml for under 15 euros.

First, it should be noted: A glance at the fragrance pyramid might lead one to expect something different. Especially dill, anise, and thyme suggest that there could be a somewhat robust spiciness hidden in this scent.
I can fully dispel this expectation, as in my opinion, these three mentioned notes are not detectable in terms of scent.

Upon spraying, Poseidon Man presents itself as a minty, fresh, and simultaneously sweet fragrance.
The citrus of the lemon provides the freshness. Over time, this freshness is supported by slightly woody and subtly fruity notes, likely due to osmanthus.
In fact, a gentle vanilla also joins the base as the fragrance develops.
However, this scent is predominantly characterized and led by a sweet mint.

It is also worth noting positively that the mint here creates a very harmonious impression. Often, mint reminds one of toothpaste or similar. However, within this fragrance DNA, I cannot confirm such associations.

If you have smelled a few fragrances, especially from the high price segment, you can definitely notice in parts that this scent is not a high-priced one, yet the positive aspects prevail when considering the unbeatable price.
On the other hand, it must also be clearly stated that some products in the designer sector, priced between 30 and 60 euros, are often less attractive than the two Institutos that I have been able to test so far. Especially regarding the price-performance ratio.

This candidate also starts with tremendous momentum! Projection and sillage are powerful in the first three hours. Over time, it then calms down increasingly. Poseidon Man lasts on my skin for about 6 hours in total.
