Price/performance 11/10, for me the best Cheapie on the market
Let's not kid ourselves: Neither Prada l'homme intense nor the regular l'homme are ultra-complex compositions, but that makes them all the more wearable as no-brainers for a variety of occasions, in my opinion. For me, however, it is surprising that both have been copied comparatively rarely so far (to my knowledge, l'homme intense has not been copied at all). So I was all the more pleased to have found a really good match for me with Poseidon God:
Here I find a fruity blueberry top note, and a less dark scent as the fragrance progresses due to reduced patchouli, which makes Poseidon God a little lighter than its role model l'homme intense. In fact, I see it as something between l'homme and l'homme intense, but with a much closer connection to the latter. This is what makes Poseidon God all the more appealing to me, because I really can't think of any occasions or seasons when you couldn't wear the fragrance.
The fragrance certainly has less depth than its role model(s), albeit only slightly, although this is in no way disproportionate to the incredible price and the listed fragrance notes are all perceptible in a classy way. H/S are on a par with the Pradas.
Only the bottle is really not pretty, and the spray head is mounted so low that it sprays against its own frame every time. All bearable in view of the fact that the lost perfume cost me perhaps just one cent.
And all this from a European manufacturer with over 100 years of tradition at least gives me a much better feeling when applying it every day than I get from other manufacturers in this price category.
Instituto Español shows what excellent perfume can really cost and almost makes a mockery of other perfume houses.
