Jul et Mad..they can do it differently!

I have come to know Jul et Mad as a very high-quality brand, where the individual fragrance notes appear very natural and authentic, sometimes even possessing an ethereal character. From this brand comes, for me, one of the best and most beautiful summer fragrances ever, Aqua Sextius. Flowers and blossoms are often the theme of their fragrances, which makes me all the more astonished by this scent.
What a spice bomb!!! A spice rack from the Orient as a top note? Now that takes guts and courage; the nose is certainly not rolled out a red carpet or even had the door held open! Bang..right in the nose..from all directions, mainly pepper and nutmeg, but there are also other candidates mingling that create more of a fragrance or spice carpet.
A captivating mix of spicy, very aromatic woods, with a mini oud note that shines soft and golden like the bottle in the picture. Peppery sharpness blends with mild balsamic sweetness, exotic spices, and something green-bitter (coriander?), which I can't pinpoint exactly. What I can detect, however, is the herb-sweet tobacco note that is very spicy. Anyone who liked the Herod tobacco (probably because of the sweetness) will be anything but delighted here. Because this tobacco is tobacco for smokers, not for the shisha nonsense of pubescent teenagers. Do you know the feeling and the wonderful smell when you buy tobacco for rolling your own and open it fresh...wonderful!!!! This tobacco scent mixes with golden honey, sweet..noble..and miles away from being sticky or sugary.
How they managed to incorporate a delicate, fresh note into these very expressive and aromatic aromas, which you can still detect amidst this overwhelming presence, is simply top-notch. Osmanthus is mentioned..could be..I don't know, and I can't answer that definitively. The emanating "coolness" would at least fit quite well with that.
Man oh man..so many different impressions, sometimes simultaneously, sometimes chronologically, a fragrance that seems to be constantly in motion and yet has a calming effect on me. I believe this is the effect when a fragrance clearly exceeds expectations, offering a new olfactory experience. Perhaps it is also due to the flowers and herbs that subtly show in the base, which is incredibly flattering after the "hard" opener.
Conclusion: For me, a beautiful, more than successful fragrance that, despite its seemingly endless number of fragrance notes and impressions, does not come across as complicated or overloaded. Certainly not a fragrance for spring or summer or if you're looking for something uncomplicated for the beer garden, but anyone wanting to electrify their sense of smell should be happy with this scent. The longevity is ideal at 8 hours, and the sillage is strong without overwhelming you.
A fragrance that is worth every cent and once again confirms the dedication and quality with which this brand, one might almost say manufactory, works, just wonderful!

My girlfriend said it smells like moldy oranges here; it reminded me a bit of Land of Warriors by Vagabond Prince. Perceptions can be so different;-)! For me, that's warning enough, because translated it means: "Woe to you if you buy this!!!!";-)! We'll see...

Your girlfriend is right. There's something in the scent progression that reminds me of moldy oranges.

I'm not a big fan of Osmanthus either, so you can test it without worry. The fresh coolness could also come from a mild mint! I'm really looking forward to your impressions!

Since I don't like osmanthus in fragrances at all, I had dismissed it. Until now. Because in your great description, a lot is mentioned, but osmanthus doesn't seem to play a big role. So, adding it to my watchlist ;-))

Great comment that makes me want to try it! Even though I'm not a smoker, quite the opposite - I've always found the smell of fresh tobacco beautiful... :-)

Yesss, it's great, right? I feel exactly the same way you do. I've already pushed the limits on the purchase a few times. It's definitely a hefty price... but such a wonderful scent. I'm just not sure if it might become too much too quickly.

Oh, I love this scent of fresh hand-rolled tobacco, but I've never found it in a perfume. Great description!
