Aura of the Extinct Smoke Stick

My first perfume, which I received through a swap. And I definitely like it more than the exchanged little water (Beyond Paradise Men), but Aura also has its medium-sized weaknesses. Nevertheless, I will definitely swap more here in the community in the future, as everything worked super well (Thanks, Smello!) and what should one do with scents one doesn't like at all and that were clearly mistakes?

I unpacked Aura and sprayed the test strip, as I had just applied some perfume myself. That was a pleasant surprise. Either it ended up in a refrigerator somewhere on the way or Aura smells quite different on the strip than on the skin. As soon as I brought my nose to the strip, a sublime tobacco freshness came to me, even a real chill... the test strip became cold! That was new and inexplicable to me, so I was more than curious about the skin test. With the same performance, it would have been a 90% candidate. But unfortunately, it turned out differently; on the skin, only the tobacco dominates, a bit green behind the ears and very slightly sweet, but mainly smoke, tobacco, ashtray-style. It's just okay, but there are definitely better alternatives that one would want to smell like as a non-smoker. Because the scent is also quite synthetic and not like, for example, a Tabacco Vanille, not even close. Besides the tobacco, I perceive cinnamon, refreshing green notes (lime?), green tea, and then later sandalwood. These elements are really good, but they are slightly dragged down by the cheap appearance and the gray tobacco note, which reminds me of a leather jacket that hung in a smokers' club for a long time.

The bottle is as divided as the scent. Nice idea and shape, but somehow cheap, awkward, and lazily executed. But still not a disaster and something different with the plexiglass and the toxic green color. Longevity gives it rather further minus points with 5 hours, and sillage is also little to moderately present.

Overall, a good swap, but unfortunately, it doesn't live up to what the test strip promised. But maybe I should store it in the refrigerator...

Not just him, I have a whole palette of my summer fragrances always in the fridge. My wife took almost all of them out for me because each scent develops differently when warm; they can spoil. Store them cool and protected from light, and don’t tip them over.

Thanks for the comment. Hmm, if you like a fresh, non-synthetic tobacco note without the ashtray vibe, "Fleur de Sel" might be something for you?
