		Interesting Facts
The French fragrance label "Jacomo" is a niche brand for exclusive women's and men's fragrances and was founded with lots of commitment and passion.
Gérard Courtin has always been fascinated by fragrances and aromas. This fascination was strengthened when he visited New York in 1962, one of the capitals of fragrances. Back in France, he went to the French fragrance metropolis of Grasse in 1965, where he was inspired to create his fragrances. Courtin now began a process of research and learning for several years to learn everything about aromas, selection, production, and composition. Equipped with enough theoretical and practical experience, Gérard Courtin founded his brand "Jacomo" in 1970 in a small fragrance laboratory not far from Paris.
He first created some distinctive fragrances such as "Silences" or even "Chicane", which quickly gained popularity. Courtin and his team at "Jacomo" were inspired by several sculptures he had seen years earlier in New York's Museum of Modern Art.
The range of fragrances at "Jacomo" is broad and caters to many different preferences. For example, "Silences" (1978) is rather subtle and floral, while "Jacomo de Jacomo" (1980) brings a strong woody aroma. "Parfum Rare" (1985) serves the oriental passion, and "Paradox" enhances sensuality for both ladies (1998) and men (1999).
