My dearest, only, golden, best man of all has gifted me two fragrances for my birthday. Well, I actually picked them out about 5 weeks ago and paid for them in advance, many thanks to Olkaolka, you have so many treasures, I want to have many, many more ;-),
but I've already gotten the money back. With us, it usually goes like this: he is happy because he doesn't have to choose something that I might not like, and I am happy THAT I can choose something THAT I like. ;-)
Today both fragrances arrived, and THIS ONE, well, this one is truly something special. I had already thought that I would really like it, but that it is THIS good is really something wonderful.
As we all know, most fragrances from the 80s are strong, long-lasting, and pack a punch.
Here it is similar, although I must say, the spices are not overwhelming, but rather stimulating, they are not harsh but, as Minigolf aptly describes, it has a deep, dark tone that does not come across as melancholic, but rather light-footed, almost delicate, with incredibly well-balanced nuances of flowers that I cannot individually identify, yet they are still present, enveloping you like a gentle veil.
If you briefly leave the room and come back after a while, you smell this blend of fine spices; I don't find them earthy or sharp, the woody elements are only fleetingly recognizable, at least for me, it is really dominated by cardamom, clove, and perhaps just a little coriander, but soft and warm, which I assume comes from the rosewood, but that is just a guess.
I am so glad that I chose this fragrance, as I couldn't find it anywhere else. So once again, many thanks for the sale, dear Ola.
A perfectly successful fragrance that is both unsweetened floral, spicy, and a little woody.
… I'm wearing it again today for the first time in a while - and I had to ask myself why I wear it so rarely :) …. It's wonderful! - and the gifting practice is often the same for us too ;-))
